Hi Damo We got one about 50kg today and were close to huntress when they hooked up out past the thousand fathom line south east of browns. There was lots of bait out there up high but scattered and you had to cover plenty of ground to find fish. There was a black alloy boat hooked up not long after huntress and we got our fish close to dark. If the bait holds they should hang around this week.

Awesome effort guys. We went out today and found a lot of bait and birds north east of the bait station. Raised a good sized black who followed the lumo on the long corner and then made a run of about 300 metres before tail walking everywhere and spiting the hook. Where the bait was holding the water was over 26 degrees and an awesome colour but probably a bit too warm. Looking good for the next few weeks though. Was just a glorious day to be out there with perfect conditions right through to about 4pm when we cruised home with the nor easter.

Great fish mate. Am heading out Sunday for a crack and was wondering if the current had slowed down?

Tried a Pm but wouldnt go through? Went out this morning - got there about 730. The current has slowed down to about 1.5 knots. We got 3 dollies straight away on the drift with fresh squid but they sussed this out quick as usual. Didnt have livies so tried some jigs. Hit another 4 then they shut down. All fish were in the 55 -65cm range and were released. Water was 24 degrees. Went out to the shelf and there was a band of 25 degree blue water where we got 8 striped tuna. There was bugger all swell but the usual crappy short sharp easterly chop. Good luck.
