  1. yep, just to clarify, the rechargeable batteries are actually 4AA batteries, so swapping them out is a cinch. another thing it also has are different modes, like SOS flash mode, just in case you ever run into any strife and you need to signal planes searching for you
  2. nice work mate! jew of the beach is something I have yet to do. p.s. you got invisible leg thermals on? looks like you're rugged up from waist up but you're wearing shorts?
  3. I use the LED Lenser H14. Awesome head lamp, you can change it to focus on one spot or shift it to spread a wide area. It's re-chargeable too, one charge usually last me the whole night. Check them out, you won't regret it.
  4. yeah maybe I should have stayed just a little longer, but then I might of ended up sleeping on the couch when I got home LOL I think they were around most of the night, I just think you guys started to figure them out, and very quickly as well!
  5. Hahahaha before I left, all Groper was doing was watching me pull in hairy after hairy. He then came over and asked me to stop catching all the fish, so I left. And look what happens, they end up smashing it! LOL
  6. work all the depths, 20-30 then to 45-50 and then to 60+ LOL no one depth really always holds them, you need to go seriously finding them LOL Paul, hope that bow was comfy up there. Cheers Pete, heard MH was a disappointment the other day... I'm sure you'll let us know when those kings are back =)
  7. WHAT THE?!?!?!?! when I left at 11, you guys only had 2 in the esky! and here I was feeling sorry for you guys for the reason I made the donation. You HUSTLERS!!! and you end up with 16!!! HAhAHAHAH can I have my 2 back please? Only kidding, LOL. Goes to show, top fishos learn very quickly, legends! hahahaha that was a crack up about the sabiki when you guys told me LOL Great to meet you guys, we have to do it again soon. BTW, who is Saan? LOL
  8. great work buddy, good to see you getting your deckies onto them as well as you always do!
  9. so are the other KFC boys LOL, next time buddy! just lucky I didn't get onto any monsters, trying to handle the rod and netting big hairies usually don't work out too well by yourself. thanks Ray, yeah still plenty around, but unfortunately most of them weren't that big. The big ones taste so much better as they are full of so much more oil. Got the soapies around 9 I believe, and thanks. thanks mate they are but top eating =) thanks buddy HAHAHhAhA, you would not believe how many guys turned me down during the week, then I had to scrap the bottom of the barrel and ask a guy that has never touched a rod ever before in his life, and in the end, he even turned me down. LOL yeah nice to finally meet a couple of legend fishos. thanks Luke
  10. Hi Raiders, Just returned back from a trip to Cowan on a 3 boat convoy, had a big can of V on the way home and now I can't fall asleep so what else am I supposed to do? that's right, put up a report on how we went. Got to the ramp at 5:30pm, to see Formosan and co, and Basil (Groper) and Chris (Pongrass) already waiting with their boats. Had a quick intro and got the boats into the water, waited around for my deckie to only find out he piked on me last minute, so a solo session it is. But the good thing about that is, I get to use all the rods to myself LOL. Started off slow, I couldn't get a yakka if my life depended on it, but soon enough I finally got one, got 2 fillets and whacked them on. Get hit straight away, and pulled in the hairy, then for the next couple of hours I was getting bite after bite, managed to pull in 8 hairys and a nice flattie, and missed half a dozen hairy hits as well. Managed a couple of soapies as well, and one of them took a tiny piece of pillie on my sabiki jig which was meant for a yakka LOL. I think the other guys did pretty well themselves. Hairy season is still in, so go out there and get them =).
  11. thanks all for the positive comments. yeah, thought I'd give your handsome face an appearance =) hmmm.. as for my deckies, I just pick them off the street hehe
  12. Hi Raider's, been heading down to target reds lately, and we've been taking some footage. I decided to make a mash up of our recent trips. Hope you enjoy it.
  13. Basil mate, cracking result once again! well done! I hear from a little birdie that we'll be fishing the same waters later this week =)
  14. happy belated b'day mate! and awesome red you have there! well done on the PB.
  15. Yeah I think I cleaned up on the plastics at most tackle stores Lol. Yeah, see u guys on the water soon. Thanks Larry, yeah going for snappers is top fun, shame about having to go so far to do it. Hey Dan, thanks mate. 11kg red in the bay? Hmm... Think a little far fetched maybe? But then again, who knows. I did land that 20kg king at the third runway the other week *wink* *wink* lol Thanks buddy, that line of guys willing to lend a hand is getting quite long now Lol. Will definitely keep you in mind if I need a hand.
  16. Nice one! Good to hear the hairies are still around WB, but Jewies from chicken? Will have to give that a go next time. How big did they go?
  17. thanks Groper, yes the bug has bitten and I can't wait for the next trip! yeah it was a lot of searching, but did pay off eventually. thanks buddy, but I think I have to really concentrate on the bait as well, from what you have shown us. mate! I can't wait to return the favour. thanks Scratchie too right buddy! not sure if it's coincidence but again the nemesis in nuclear chicken =) Johno mate, your problem was that you didn't have Pete and Mike searching as well ehehe and most guys would call a couple of pannies and a gummy a good day out. hahaha checked out my kids etcha sketch tonight and it did look quite similar
  18. Hi Raiders, you've probably seen a few snapper reports lately, and my one doesn't compare to some of these guys, but I'd just like to share what was my first snapper trip. You might recall Formosan reporting from a couple of weeks back on how well he did, and that got me all fired up. So we took 2 boats down last Saturday, and hopefully we could get the same result. During the week, I think I became Berkley's favorite customer, I stockpiled a sh!tload of plastics and jig heads, 5inch jerk shads, squid vicious, 7inch jerk shads, Nemesis range, all of them in different colours. 1/2oz, 3/4oz, 5/8oz, 1oz, 1.5oz. Man and I thought the amount of squid jigs I have hoarded over time was a little crazy!! Never targeted snapper before so not sure what to expect, but I was excited, gunned it out of the ramp towards some of the marks I have jotted down, and then to the next mark and so on, and all we could manage were mowies, bakers, reef fish, parrots, BLAH BLAH BLAH , where the hell were these snappers all these guys have been landing?!?!?!?! Then I get the call from Formosan relaying some intel from Mike and DTROJAN, packed it up and GUNNED it over to where they were which was about 15clicks south of our position. But still nothing after a few drifts, the dredded thought of DONUT started creeping into my head, DOH!!! Then I just decided to go looking for them a little further south, I see some good marks on the sounder and I say to my mate, I think I have found them (I was just kidding!) but first drift, with bump, bump bump, then bang, I am on. Forgot to loosen the drag, and I nearly crap my pants as my rod tip goes in the water, quickly loosen it and the fight begins, not long after, a nice 65cm red appears and netted WOOHOOO! smashed my PB by 30CM!!! Re-do the drift and we get onto a couple more decent reds (47cm and 50cm). Then the current and wind started roaring, even with the sea anchor out, we were drifting so dam fast it wasn't funny, see the pic of my drift lines, we almost painted the whole screen yellow with them LOL. Well that was my first snapper trip, it was a tough day but ended up ok, owe the guys mentioned above for sharing the intel, without them, it would have definitely been a DONUT! hopefully one day I can return the favour. thanks for reading.
  19. LOL, man I worked my butt off for 2! Navionics tells me I did approx 60Kms that day!!!
  20. Now you're just rubbing it in now Pete, 10 awesome reds and a quiet day? I would love to have that kind of quiet day anytime LOL.
  21. Yep, Formosan's gratitude also extends from me. Your intel helped my boat land 2 decent reds at the end of the day. They are some awesome reds you guys got into, you guys really know that area well.
  22. Now that is one big haul of haries, congrats mate! P.S. think you need a bigger and longer esky next time
  23. hey Nick! well done on the reds and too bad about the big one that got away. We had a tough day, but ended up getting a few towards the end, so wasn't too bad. if you had hung around at the ramp just that little longer, we would have definitely came over to check out the crusher
