  1. I'll stop by and say Hi! I'm might just sneak away from work a little early today :/
  2. Hey raiders! I'm sure most of you know that walking into a tackle shop often means many arguments with the significant other on 'how many squid jigs do you need!!' And so on... I was wondering what people's opinions are if you were ONLY allowed 4 rod reel combos (I just heard a bunch of you gasp in horror of only owning 4 rod reel combos) What 4 would you have?
  3. Wow! That's incredible! Fishings really healthy up central coast way! Awesome work on the report
  4. I assume freshwater adds osmotic pressure to fish and so the salts will leach from the fish into the diluted water
  5. Awesome report! Didn't think many people would be out yesterday...
  6. Hey Raiders, I thought I would just ask here, I was wondering if anyone knows of any reasonably priced fishing charters that accept solo anglers? Does anyone have much experience with them around? I don't really mind where they operate either. Cheers, Will
  7. I'd be happy to join for company, but I don't know the area. I just know how to fish haha..
  8. Wow awesome!! I am just sitting here at work, reading fishing posts, wishing I was on the water
  9. I'm sorry I think I started the thread :/
  10. Anyone keen for a Sunday fish? I don't mind where or what we target... If you have a boat I'd happily split costs Will
  11. This is awesome! Showing dad how it's done
  12. This was awesome... I'm so excited to get a yak... Wouldn't mind a chat about things to consider
  13. I run a shimano bait runner 6500 spooled with 30 lb braid and a penn conflict 5000 with 20 lb mono... Both with pen powercurve 12 ft rods Looking for a graphite composite. I also picked up what I think is an original hand made snyderglas before Wilson bought them out from a garage sale for 50 bucks but I can't prove it... All of them are awesome highly recommend. With 500 you could get a bunch of hb and metals as well or a good squidding combo for live baiting for rat kings! Hope this helped
  14. Awesome Report man... Loved the sounds effects!
  15. Well some times it Bobs under as little bites happen, but as soon as it takes off under, then set the hook.. 1 m is what I used to use in George's river for mullet. I guess take a look at the guys next to you, and use that depth? Have a small weight at the end of the line and a hook about 20 cm above I suppose. You could use two hooks so you are getting two depths
  16. Suspend bait about 1 m below the surface with a float. Just use styrofoam you don't have to buy a float. The float should not be free running. You won't feel bites. You have to watch the float. It will Bob under as fish bite it... Use a breadcrumb, flour dough (for mullet) Not sure about bream... You could try unweighted peeled prawns or pillies
  17. Do people bleed all fish?
  18. But sometimes it's just not enough
  19. My pop used to catch mullet like crazy in the George's. He would use a bread crumb, flour dough. Sometimes he would just buy a big round loaf and then soak it and mash it up. Then he would suspend a hook about 1 meter under a float. He would wait till the float drops under and strike. Would often catch a bunch and then curry them.
  20. I also have lifejackets from when we used to have a boat however they might be too big for general fishing. I've hear narrabean is a good place to practice. I guess my plan is to get a second hand yak with all the fishing mods. (A little sad I won't get to deck it out myself) Then get a solid year of practice. (How is yak fishing in winter?) I am a little unco as well. I'm fit, but I can see myself capsizing at least a few times haha. Then the next problem is storage and transport. I'm not sure of these as yet but I haven't done a lot of research just yet. Just been looking at yaks for now.
