The teflon plate liner is the way to go for your fish. Best $25 i ever spent.
  2. It's probably got to do with that big shark you have painted on the bottom!
  3. I think i will give it a miss tonight and try for an early start in the morning. Hope my livies survive the night.
  4. Yeah might just be a quick storm. Can't let all that bait go to waste, and if it really comes down i guess i could just sit under the road bridge at brooklyn.
  5. Was planning on spending a quiet night on the Hawksbury tonight and catch a boat full of huge jews. The is spending the weekend at her parents house. Spent 3 hours out getting fresh bait today and have a nice bait tank full of live slimeys, yakka and 7 squid (i never catch that many squid) and now the sky looks like its about to fall in. The gods are playing with me
  6. Hi guys, Spent today on the harbour looking to catch my first king, and i guess i kind of succeeded. Morning started gathering bait as ussual, got 1 squid and a few yakka's and then headed amongst the moored boats near the spit bridge (my boat is quite small so couldn't get amongst the swell). Put out a sqid strip and about 10 mins later it went off. My fishing buddy called it for a small king but after a short fight i pulled up a 74cm Cobia. Now thats about the last thing i would be expecting to catch in the harbour, am i un-educated, are these often caught this far south in estuaries. Any way great day on the water and a mixed bag of fish including a good bream, a whiting, a couple of flatties and a leather jacket. Gary
  7. Hi guys, Got the whole of next week off work and was hoping to devote it to catching my first king. I live on the central coast and have a Stacer SF 400 bass elite to fish from (not the best sea fairing vessel). I was hoping that you guys might be able to help me with where and when to fish and rigs / bait ect. I am by no means a master at catching squid but have a little spot i can ussually get a few, so bait should be ok and i have a 7' 8-15lb loomis with a 4000 twin power on it with 20lb fire line, so tackle should be ok. Any help would be much appreciated. Gary
  8. 2500 stradic on a 1-3kg 6'6" T-Curve tornament pro. I love it to bits and have caught some good flatties and bream on it. gary
  9. Probably start with something cheap to practise but the ultimate goal would be a 7' spinning rod to throw big SP,s at jews and big flatties. I was wondering if there are any reasonable local suppliers or do you get your components from the US. PM me if mentioning them breaks any forum rules.
  10. Hi Guys, Thinking about giving this a go and was wondering if any raiders build there own rods. Gary
  11. Thanks for all of your help over the past week Huey, I'll let you know about a week before i need this stuff and come and pick it up. Gary
  12. Thanks for the info guys, it is a manual start motor and there is no wiring coming from the motor at all. I purchased the motor new about 3 years ago. There are 2 wires under the cover that just go no where, could this be part of this system. Heuy, do you keep the part that i need in stock, might pick one up from you when i get the minn kota in a couple of weeks. Thank Gary
  13. Hi Guys, I was hoping that someone might be able to help me. I have a Mariner 30hp 2 stroke outboard on my stacer 400 bass elite. Looking on the mercury website it says that my motor has a 6 amp (84 watt) under the (Alternator System:). Does this mean i have been unnessasarily charging my battery when all i needed to do was conect this system or is it just the system that supplies power to the motor to run? Thanks Gary
  14. Hi Guys, Finally talked the into letting me invest in an electric motor for the boat and was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of who does the best deals in the sydney area on minn kota RT55 bow mount electric. Thanks in advance Gary
  15. I thought that was a meter ruler there at first glance. I was thinking "nice flattie" was the understatment of the century. Gary
