I tried Newport on Sunday too but saw the weed and just left. Headed around to Bilgola instead, still a bit of weed about but a lot better. No hits though

I'll keep that in mind dynabolt, I'm thinking of heading down there again xmas morning before I'mm too full of christmas cheer...

Headed out to nth Narrabeen to soak some baits tonight, arrived about 7:30pm and fished till 10pm catching most of the rising tide. Arrived with about 6 people already fishing the gutter. First hit was at about 8pm on a ganged whole pilly, missed it. Second hit on the next cast a few minutes later and landed a decent salmon. Third hit on another pilly was a good size taylor that a I ended up cutting up and throwing out for a jew or shark. No such luck. Still new to the beach thing with these being the first decent fish landed. Not sure if I got lucky, but nobody around me was catching any fish that I saw, they all seemed to be fishing pretty light in the lead department. I ended up adding more lead after a few casts cause there was a decent bit of current. Maybe that was it. Looking forward to getting out there again soon. Here's Sammy.

Hi guys, Been fishing for years mainly on boats and wharves mostly in and outside Pittwater. Looking for someone to show me the ropes for beach/rock fishing or even just someone to fish with... I've been out a few times and the best I've done was a small flattie I have all my own gear and am looking to fish on the northern beaches but would consider travelling further. Hi Guys, Just wondering if anyone has had any luck with the squid in Pittwater. Have heard of some being caught up around Palm Beach. I have fished the wharves around Taylors Point for zero.

FYI, bought the Hot's GIPANG Tide Lez. 67H, sweeeeeeet rod. Now all I need to do is catch some fish!

Thanks for the info. I've had a look at both of them online (more so Zenaq because of price), the reason that i'm leaning towards the Hots is because i've actually held it with a 5000 stella on it and it was REAL nice. I'd be hesitate to order in and buy a rod that i'd never held. I was sold on the Nitro Godzilla till i saw it in the shop, completely wrong for what i want to do. Do you know of any tackle shops in Sydney that might stock said rods?

Hi guys, first time i've posted here. Just recently bought a Stella 5000SW and am looking for a rod. Will mostly be throwing poppers and stickbaits at pelagics from a boat in sydney. Spent about 2 hours in the local testing out rods without making a final descission, thought i'd jump on here and see what you guys think. Really like the Hot's GIPANG Tide Lez. 67M but it's about $900 here, the other rod i've looked at is the Smith KGS-70MH. Lastly, has anybody had any experience puchasing rods overseas? I know I can get the Hot's shipped over from singapore for US$500 but it seems to good to be true. Thanks in advance, Logan.
