Plenty of Redfin and the occasional yellowbelly and rainbow in Lake Canobolas. Try fishing straight down from the dam wall, or get up the head of the lake into the weeds. Little celta spinners in red seem to do well.
Anybody know if people go after jewies in the Parra river on fly? I know guys catch them on hardbodies and plastics, how about the fur and feather brigade?
Sorry to go vaguely off-topic, but this is something I am following with great interest.
I like it! Were you fishing from the beach end or the golf course end?
I might head down with the fly rod after work some time this week. See what creatures I can stir up. I guess you wouldn't recommend wading?
Nice report, thanks for taking the time to write it up.
Royce I'm a little bit jealous. Haven't busted the fly cherry yet this year. Looks like you guys had a great day, I'm glad you got onto those fish on the fish.
That surprises me that you didn't find any spawners. Still it looks like you did well, that brown is beautiful, the Jenolan looks like a really nice place to fish.
Hi Scott,
Nice report, nice fish. I'll be going in on the weekend, hopefully they're running up there. Also hoping that the freezing cold weather means no snakes and no leeches.
Haha no worries, I'd never pressure anyone to divulge a spot, some of those little creeks can't handle much pressure. Don't risk a latte head for my benefit!
