  1. Plenty of Redfin and the occasional yellowbelly and rainbow in Lake Canobolas. Try fishing straight down from the dam wall, or get up the head of the lake into the weeds. Little celta spinners in red seem to do well.
  2. Damn straight. I haven't caught a jewfish before and I'm pretty keen to get one on fly as my first. Looking forward to your reports with interest.
  3. Anybody know if people go after jewies in the Parra river on fly? I know guys catch them on hardbodies and plastics, how about the fur and feather brigade? Sorry to go vaguely off-topic, but this is something I am following with great interest.
  4. Thanks for the info. Sounds like a pretty toxic place. Guess it's golf course run off that pollutes it?
  5. I like it! Were you fishing from the beach end or the golf course end? I might head down with the fly rod after work some time this week. See what creatures I can stir up. I guess you wouldn't recommend wading?
  6. Nice work Dean. You hooking them on fly yet?
  7. I've heard that in the area in which I grew up, the best bait for big cod was a (whole) rabbit. Cod are awesome.
  8. Cheers man. Marinas tend to be where I catch my biggest (still not very big though) bream - I love wrestling them out from the pylons and pontoons.
  9. Do you guys fish under the bridge or at the marina? Heck of a catch too.
  10. Nice report, thanks for taking the time to write it up. Royce I'm a little bit jealous. Haven't busted the fly cherry yet this year. Looks like you guys had a great day, I'm glad you got onto those fish on the fish.
  11. That surprises me that you didn't find any spawners. Still it looks like you did well, that brown is beautiful, the Jenolan looks like a really nice place to fish.
  12. Gee Chris that's an absolute behemoth of a brown. Congratulations, and well played to Paul for the assistance. Well done all round I guess!
  13. Hi Scott, Nice report, nice fish. I'll be going in on the weekend, hopefully they're running up there. Also hoping that the freezing cold weather means no snakes and no leeches.
  14. Haha no worries, I'd never pressure anyone to divulge a spot, some of those little creeks can't handle much pressure. Don't risk a latte head for my benefit!
  15. Nice fish and a well told story. Was this on the Turon or were you venturing further afield?
