  1. Hey James, im now living on the gold coast too, im now a half owner of a charter fishing business up here, we have been doing quite a few shark fishing charters with great success, We have found that baits set on the bottom are far more productive than floating baits. we have been dropping whole mac tuna to the bottom on the 24 fathom reefs due east of the sea way, they get eaten every time. usually Bronze whalers and bull sharks.Burleying hard also helps.
  2. yeah i saw that, definately blackfish not mullet
  3. i play about twice a year, im absolutely hopeless at it, but i enjoy having a few beers on my way around the course
  4. there are some great 4wd tracks around mt walker (lithgow) you can drive around some parts of lake lyall and the creek that feeds into it. another area is the Bridal track, it follows the rivers between Bathurst and hill end. if you want to go coastal, Stockton beach is good, for some Bass fishing there are a heap of tracks inland from ulladulla
  5. An American Decided to write a book about famous churches around the world. So he bought a plane ticket and took a trip to Orlando , thinking that he would start by working his way across the USA from South to North. On his first day he was inside a church taking photographs when he noticed a golden telephone mounted on the wall with a sign that read '$10,000 per call'. The American, being intrigued, asked a priest who was strolling by what the telephone was used for. The priest replied that it was a direct line to heaven and that for $10,000 you could talk to God. The American thanked the priest and went along his way. Next stop was in Atlanta . There, at a very large cathedral, he saw the same golden telephone with the same sign under it. He wondered if this was the same kind of telephone he saw in Orlando and he asked a nearby nun what its purpose was. She told him that it was a direct line to heaven and that for $10,000 he could talk to God. 'O.K., thank you,' said the American . He then travelled all across America, Europe, England, Japan, New Zealand. In every church he saw the same golden telephone with the same '$US10,000 per call' sign under it. The American, decided to travel to Australia to see if Australians had the same phone. He arrived at the Gold Coast, in Australia and again, in the first church he entered, there was the same golden telephone, but this time the sign under it read '40 cents per call.' The American was surprised so he asked the priest about the sign. 'Father, I've traveled all over the world and I've seen this same golden telephone in many churches. I'm told that it is a direct line to Heaven, but in all of them price was $10,000 per call. Why is it so cheap here?' The priest smiled and answered, 'You're in Australia now, son - it's a local call'. __________________
  6. my guess is it would have been a wirra cod, either that or this is just an april fools gag
  7. i cant get the link to work either
  8. i try and get everything cold in the house fridge, then load the 12 volt fridge (mines an engel). saves your expense 12 volt fridge from working as hard. also keep well ventilated. it needs to be able to get rid of heat off the condensor. if the ambient temperature around the fridge gets gets hooter than the condensor it wont cool, (ie in a closed car on a hot day). and yes as stated above dont run it off cheap generators) otherwise they work well.
  9. its a great show, actually ch31 has a few great shows, i also like 4wdTV thats on at 7:30 before adventure bound. the only thing i dont like about ch31 is i cant find a TV guide for it, no one seems to publish one for it
  10. great report and great videos, love some of the commentry too. "they must of been havin sex bro" some good fish and interesting to watch your techniques.
  11. good stuff, wish i could find the time to get out for a crack at the dollies, work is just too busy at the moment
  12. so much for the old saying "Ba##ards will steal anything thats not bolted down" it seem bolted items arent off limits to them either. at least they didnt suceed in pinching the motor.

    Thank You

I realise that mate. if there were no rules on forums it would be a total Crap fight, and the place would be hell, no one would visit. I guess ive probobally opened a can of worms that maybe i shouldnt of have with my first post in this thread. but seeing as though ive cracked the can i ellaborate a little bit and share my thoughts.I found this site on google last year some time and joined. may have posted a few times over summer. then the cooler months came in. (i dont fish much over winter) when i joined i put a link in my sig line to another site im involved with, its a 4X4 site. I mainly concentrate on 4x4 comps through the cooler months, then get into fishin and boating through summer. i returned after winter and noticed my sig line had dissapeared. i didnt really think much of it, and simply reposted it. then i got a PM informing me that links to personal websites werent permitted in sig lines. This to me seemed a little strange as all the forums i usually visit allow this. now i can understand that Admins want to look after their sponsors and fair enough. I wasnt trying to sell anything or advertise any product. the only reason i put that link there was, because i figured a lot of fishos probobally owned 4wdrives, and some might be interested in learning more about there operation and how to drive them so they coukld get to there favourite trout stream etc. I always thought the net was about sharing info and ideas, and id imagine a lot of fishos own 4bys too. I just felt its a bit harsh not being able to post links in a sig line, when they are not in competition with this site or its sponsors. As stated earlier, i fully understand why you wouldnt want people advertising their stores here if they arer not sponsors, your sponsors deserve that courtesy as they are supporting the site. And for the record, i didnt know Wattos existed until i visited this site, and ive since bought a rod and reel from him, (seemed a good bloke too). to Admins these are just my thoughts, im happy to abide by the rules, even though i dont agree with all of em, i do like this site and enjoy visiting it. thanks for reading my rant. make of it what you wish. Mark

    Home Invasion

i would like to say "unbelievable" but unfortunately in this day and age its not. your probobally lucky you didnt wake up and confront them. (might of had that maddock embedded in your skull) i hope you were insured fully. Low life bastards should be hung. I had a mate that had a similar experience, he was living 10 mins up the road from you in Blackett, his mrs heard something, he got up and picked up his sons cricket bat just as the A holes kicked his door in. he said he was belting one of them with the bat, but it had no effect, can only assumke they were wasted on smack and couldnt feel the pain. they only retreated when they heard his mrs ask to be connected to the police on the phone. needless to say he no longer lives in Blackett. mind you, you sort of expect crap like that in such an area. although hassel grove is a respectable neighbourhood. its a sad fact that scumbagville is just up the road. i feel for you though mate. i hope they catch the bastards. i know id want blood
