  1. this is what i found Also known as Bung or Yakka. Yellowtail are a traditional bait for recreational and commercial fishers (live and dead bait for tuna) Fish put straight onto ice slurry are used for human consumption. Yellowtail are caught with handlines and seine nets and are often associated with schools of pilchards. They are a pelagic fish that form large schools in marine inshore areas such as estuaries and bays. Adult fish are generally found over offshore rocky reefs, while juveniles are generally found in shallow, soft substrate areas. Spawning is thought to occur in the open ocean. Yellowtail first mature at 20cm (females) and 22cm (males)

  3. caught my first fish on sps and it was a legal size flonder just 26cms, caught using nuclear chicken

  5. best way to catch cuttlefish is i know so far from my experience is to jig really slow with just two twitches and just jig for half second twice and leave it for 30 seconds, i have caught heaps of cuttlefish from this trick and i am yet to open my squid account and i m gonna do it soon,
  6. thanks greg for your help, i think i got the idea how you rig it up, its just open the hood flip it over the gut side, (take out the beak ?) and hook it up using two hooks, correct me if i am wrong, what would be target species ??? on a cuttlefish all help really appreciated thanks again

  10. i would say its not a long tom, first reason that it doesnt have that really long beak, second the face of long tom looks kinda square, i caught around 20 longtoms in the harbour which were all different sizes, had great fun on light gear, the longest one was 1.2m
  11. hey greg, everytime i go for squidding i end up catching cuttlefish, and i never use it as a bait, so how do i hook it, do i need to take the bone out of the hood, ? last time i hooked it up alive and it died in 10 min, and for jews do you use sinkers that put the bait all the way to thee bottom ? any help would be appriciated cheers
  12. this is well filled knowledge treasure chest for the most ellusive fish the Jewy, thanks for sharing guys, as i am landbased fisho what would be the best way find a jewy spot, its not like am just asking i been trying for a long time and because of no success i am relying on this last resort, i know all the basics on cathching them, but never got lucky, i fish mostly in sydney harbour as i rely on cityrail and sydney buses, thanks again for the effort boys Zed
