  1. Thanks gents, I have been running with the small esky behind but have found it awkward getting the catch in (lost one in the motion) and also limited to a fish of about 50cm. Keeper net it is. Cheers guys
  2. Gents, New to yak fishing and need a tip. What do you do with your catch when you get it into the yak? If your 200m from shore and 5 mins into your session and catch one where do you put it? I had to paddle in to shore when I got my second one today. Was a 55cm flatty and carried on (as they do) once In the yak. Any advice would be appreciated.
  3. Raiders, Just looking for an upstream boat ramp in the Hawkesbury. I cam see one at a place called Marlow (near Spencer) Can anyone tell me what it's like as far as getting to it and is it decent enough to launch at? Cheers

  5. Raiders, Went for a quick flick at Ettalong tonight. Pumped for nippers but only managed 1 as I got to the nipper spot too late (I think I needed more water around and it was about 3/4 out...any tips for best time would be great), so I took some prawns for bait. Anyway... Got to the spot opposite half tide rocks and cast a lure (jackall transam) around for 10 mins then tried some prawns for zilch. As soon as I put the nipper on the hook I pulled in a nice 56cm flatty. I also noticed a group out guys (who were decked out with the right gear and looked like they know what they were doing) all turned up about 1 hour before the low tide change and they were also hooking up so I am assuming that's go time for that location.
  6. Yeah. I find a proper clean of the boat, eskies, rods, reels with hot soapy water takes me about an hour. If there are 2 of us it's much quicker. Take a mate.
  7. I like sgtbundys idea. I also think if you can invent the ultimate wheel bearing that dosent require annual replacement you will be a rich man.
  8. Stephand, I have had the same issue there with sweep and found that when that's occurring I don't drop the bait jig down as deep, In actual fact i sit it just below the surface and I have found doing that helps. Maybe the sweep sit below the yakkas I'm not sure. Just give it a try next time you have that issue
  9. Wow, I never new EP's were caught in the Nepean and on closer inspection I think EP is correct. First I have heard of them being caught that far up. Not looking for an exact spot but would be interesting to know the general area.
  10. Raiders, Just looking for any advice on catching poddy mullet in the Patonga - Ettalong area. I have tried Patonga Ck and Parsley Bay boat ramp (I see what look to be small mullet when I launch the boat prior to sunrise) without luck. I have also tried the cordial bottle style trap and made one of these . Bait used was both bread and bread crumbs.Any advice on locations/tides etc would be great. Also wanted to know if they are around all year? Cheers
