  1. The fight was incredible! My mate asked me later that day what pulled harder the 113.5cm Jew on 4pound line or the 1meter King on 50pound. The Jew was a longer fight but the answer is hands down the 1meter King as it never gave up and ripped line off the spool
  2. Cheers BIGMAN Caught it down in Jervis Bay
  3. G’day Raiders Well after a cracker of a day on the Kingies the weekend before where my mate Shane8 finally caught his first legal Kingfish (after many years of failed attempts), we just had to get out and try to get a meter+ model. We were on the water by 4:30am collecting bait and with a few in the tank we headed off to the first spot. After setting up a yakka under a balloon out the back of the boat by 5:15am, we began to pepper the edges with some top water lures when “Pop” the balloon bursts and I’m in. Looking at the Lowrance sounder and noting that the water depth was only 40foot I prepared myself to hang on and hope for the best. After a great fight I had the fish in the boat and on the truth stick. My 1st meter+ Kingfish!
  4. Now we just need to both crack the 100cm Kingfish! Sunday/Monday next week is looking good to head out again
  5. Off Ulladulla on Saturday the 21st of June 2014, made it out to the 1800 line with not a tuna insight. We did get a 117cm Dollie at the 500 line near the Ulladulla Kink. Hoping the weather settles down soon so we can get out there and chase them again.
  6. Well done Shane8 you will have to do some more estuary fishings with me then! Well done on the sailfish in Darwin yesterday (I'm surprised you let your wife get to the rod 1st!) Catch up with you when you get back mate
  7. Cheers everyone, it will be a day I never forget! Im heading out again this week chasing Bream & Snapper, see how I go this time
  8. Hi Raiders I headed out for a quick morning fish on St Georges Basin chasing Bream & Snapper on 4 pound gear but I ended up with a 113.5cm Jew fish instead. After a 45 minute battle around the basin I had it boat side and landed! It was caught on a 80mm bloodworm wriggler.
  9. Great video and even better fish, well done!!!
  10. I headed off Currarong on Sunday to fish the Banks/FAD as I heard that there were Marlin about and a heap of bait. Well there was a heap of slimys around but no Marlin and to make it worse when I got to work today my staff ring me up to tell me that they were catching them off the tubes and in Middle ground at JB! To make it worse, the only two fish caught (Sampson & King) were by my mate. Just my luck....... Hope that the Marlin stick around for a bit and it fires up even more
  11. I've got two screen shots saved to my desktop with the winds on Seabreeze NNE -2 & WSW -1 on Tuesday 27/8/13 but how can wind be in a minus? if it goes backwards does it not just change direction? This is the time I change to using WillyWeather
  12. Spotie, Your 100% right about the new size limits, but I heard that this does not apply for the pros? Thought that I read somewhere it was still 45cm for them..... If so then that sucks as it defeats the purpose.
  13. Cheers Scratchie Yes got a few just size lizards & tailor There was massive amounts of whitebait throughout the system as well. We did plan to go up the back of the river and go for the trifecta (Bream, Bass & EP's) but the wind destroyed that plan.
  14. Hey Raiders Just a quick post from an early Sunday morning session (before the wind turned everything to ) Had a mate give me a call on Friday afternoon inviting me to head down the coast to Batemans Bay to target some Jews on plastics but with the reports of high winds throughout the day we changed the plans and hit the Shoalhaven river a little closer to home. Ended up on the water by 6:30am and tried a few spots before coming to one of the more well-known areas for Jews and with the tide starting to slow it was only a matter of time. I ended up boating this nice little 60cm model at about 8:45am and my mate boated his 65cm model (photo to come later) at about 9:30am (before the winds picked up at 11am) As the new size limits have come into play for these river ghosts (70cm) we got a few happy snaps and released them in good condition to fight another day. Off the water by 12pm and not a bad way to spend a Sunday morning.
