  1. Here is a lure I made with 3d printer. I've skipped making look nice and gone for function. I think the bubble jets will be awesome. Video of it ob printer won't upload. Can't wait to tow it and try some other colours and designs.

Just become a teacher and fish when you want too.
  3. Scratchie has locked in seat for both days. Cheers
  4. 1 spot to fill on my boat this Friday and Saturday. Chasing Marlin, no virgins please, I don't want a spewing passenger. No gear needed but bring it if you have it. $60 for the day will cover your fuel looking reduce costs on an expensive weekend travelling up from Sydney. PM me, your number I'll call to arrange.
  5. Got a Fin on Sunday, heard some action on the radio near Browns so headed over got 5km south seen some birds working and a couple of boats circling. Seen a couple of barrels busting and swimming in front of the boat. Water was green and full of algae 22.5 - 23.0. Hooked on a lumo skirt. Find the birds find the fish. Had a slow run back after dropping a motor 2 minutes after boating the fish. Could of been worse having a fish onboard eased the pain.
  6. Hi guys Just to add to this I was out yesterday with fellow raider Don.a, we set lures wide of the Gong, headed east seen birds working around lunch time. Worked the area for around an hour birds disappeared as quick as they appeared. Then out of nowhere free jumpers, head straight for them and shoty goes off. 35 minutes later we have a 1.5m yft under the boat doing circle work for 10 minutes trying to gain that last 10m then snap, crimp pulls on the leader. Don's crimp, Don's fish and Don not very happy. Set the lures again about an hour later big run on the shoty again this time after 15 minutes pulled the hooks 30m from the boat. Good day hooked a couple of fish, if you don't laugh you will cry. We were in 151.27 34.34. 53km east of Kembla. Long liners setting down there as well. They are out there if you are in the right place at the right time.
  7. Sounds similar to the day I had, minus the 35kg fin on the deck. Great whale and dolphin watching day with a number of bait schools and the occasional bust up (short lived) with no action. Good day considering I was too sick for work.
  8. Hey Bluelabel Iwill be on 21 from 7 heading out to 500 fathoms happy to share info. I'll be out with another boat I'll give you a shout out you can get me on the handle Kitto.
  9. Hey domza Were you the guy that was at Browns asking for help because you only had a 27Mhz radio? Then had to be towed back in by rescue after running out of fuel even after being given fuel by another boat. People should learn the range of their boat before heading to Heatons on their maiden voyage wide. You don't know how lucky you were another boat had their 27 on I rarely turn mine on when out wide I am sure others will agree.
  10. Forshore is closest to the head Sylvania is next best if oil spill has still closed Foreshore. As for Hacking ramps Gunamatta is shallow as shite if u can get parking, Grays point is miles from the heads. Heading from south have a crack at Sylvania.
  11. Hi Guys Took up an offer today from another Raider Greg, to head this arvo and pull some lures around. Plenty of stripies caught today, no YFT or BFT but can report that BFT were being caught on the mountain about 30 minutes after dark on the cube 30kg was the number that was being thrown around on the radio. We had just pointed for home and didn't head back.
  12. Hi Mitch Text me and we can sort out the details. Cheers Ryan
  13. Hi Guys Just sold my boat, waiting 4 weeks for new one. Can't believe tuna turn up the week it's gone. Anyone who would like to head out, I have all the gear. I am on holidays, any day is good for the next 2 weeks. Text me 0418495480.
  14. Exactly same thing happened on my boat first time we hooked a small Mako, got it beside the boat in under a minute a decided to let it run at it was too green to gaff, we knew it would wake up with a hook in it's head. We still had the same ending as you, it wrapped itself up and snapped off beside the boat. Best tip I have is to run a slip knot length of rope through the rod, down the line and pull it tight as the shark swims through it, may still get stuck on the dorsal fin but easier than trying to get a slip knot around a the tail of beast going spastic beside the boat.
  15. Looks like I may have overestimated the size of that fish looks a bit smaller up close, still big for a dolly of Sydney. Looks around the same size as the ones chasing up the YFT to the boat. Thanks again for the livies and get a 4 stroke that boat is using double the fuel I am.
  16. Split the catch 3 ways and fed my neighbours. Plenty more were let go.
  17. Hi All Went out yesterday in search of blue water and blue marlin, after a couple of laps of the wide fad and no joy, pointed the boat east. After I hit the 170m mark and heard a mention on the radio from game boat Mololo picking up small YFT in 170m in line with Browns. A quick look to more port side about 2km away I see birds working with 1 boat in sight, spread comes in and flat stick over there. I put the spread out before I get to the birds and see tuna busting up everywhere. Had some fun for about 30minutes picking small stripes and yellows. Then we spot it, a huge tree with only it's trunk bobbing out. First pass we get a YFT and a massive 1.2m+ Dolly follows it up, second pass same again, third time we have a soft plastic ready but not interested so we continue catch a small dollies and YFT each time we pass. Another small boat joins the fun after an hour and we point the log out to him and the massive bull under it. He drops a yakka and boom, 40 minutes later in the boat then came over to show us a fish that would of measured 1.5m. He was kind enough to throw 2 livies my way which results in 2 dollies but the big ones just were not happening. Such an awesome day but so frustrating seeing big fish next to boat but not on the bite (for me). Tried poppers, stick shads, bibbed laser pro, strips of stripe tuna, jet head christmas trees and small pushers. Pick of the lures on the day with more than half the strikes was the $4.50 christmas tree. P.S anyone on 21 will know I did broadcast the location of the tree after we were done for the day around 2pm. Hopefully that will be returned one day but I won't hold my breathe
  18. [quote name=d()b' timestamp='1351203749' post='459413] Hi Fishos! Would like to fish this coming Sunday morning. Wondering if any kind fishos is willing to take 2 guys along out to fish? Will share cost. Looking forward to your PM. db Pm sent
  19. Hi ALL I have been keeping an eye on the charts and at the moment JB seems to be the most attractive with a nice 2.5c break just past the Canyon. Has anyone heard of fish down there this week? Ripchart.bmp
  20. I never commented on the size of the fish. That beast is double the size of my best out there. I must agree with the comment of when the gems are thick. I struggle to get a blue eye because of triple hook ups after 30 seconds on the bottom but I am not complaining about catching gems.
  21. I head out there in a 5.2 twinfisher with a 90hp 4stroke and use between 60-70ltr depending on weather, don't flog the shite out of the motor and you will use conserve fuel. If you get there expect to get fish its not like chasing marlin, sinker hits the bottom bang your on 10 minutes later fish is at the boat especially when the gems show up. There is always safety in numbers once your out there you feel like you are in bay surrounded by 40 boats fishing the same spot difference is everyone is catching a feed. Sort out your fuel range make sure you have at least 2kg sinkers made from anything that sinks and expect to lose a couple. 600w sounder on 50hz will do the job catching the top on the mountain with picture a litte rough .I once questioned if it was too far for a trailer boat but once your out there with 30 of them on a reasonable day which I consider to be less than 13-15 knots and 1m swell, the doubt is gone and you will be forever on seabreeze waiting for the next chance to get out. Not sure if others agree with this but it works for me and many others out there.
  22. You will find an Alvey Reef King on e.b.a.y at the moment. That is a nice Blue Eye there I am sure there will be a couple more boats out on the mountain next weekend after this thread. Here is the link for that reel goodluck and I might catch you out there.
  23. Hi Guys Just wondering if there has been any Blue Eye or Gems being caught out at Browns yet? I know the water temp has dropped but its a long way to go for doughnuts.
