  1. Thanks guys appreciate it. I’ll have a look at those
  2. Hey guys, I haven’t done much fishing off the stones. Going down to pretty beach and looking for a rod to use off snapper point that I can also use flicking 20-30g metals from the beaches there too. any suggestions for something under $200? It’ll be paired with a 5000 vanford thanks
  3. Hey mike that place looks pretty comfy! Yea wellzy unfortunately o can't really pick and choose haha its the only day I'm free. Better than nothing right CheeRs guys!
  4. Hey Guys, I was hoping to throw a line in (land based) but the weather doesn't look good. Still, it'd beat sitting at home - does anyone know of any spots around sydney that i can keep dry and throw a line in at night? So far im thinking one of the sheltered wharves around, not too sure which ones i can fish from (apart from the ones around putney). Any particular bridges u can fish under or any other sheltered places? Cheers, Jase
  5. thanks oz_brett, yeap i'll take the weight of my tackle + esky etc into account. I really don't want to go anywhere near the max rating. I'm hoping that sellers will have their weight ratings. I've seen this on trailers, do boats have these details printed somewhere or only on the paperwork? I could exactly take it to a weight station before buying it and I think it would be too much to ask the seller to do that.
  6. wow thanks guys, your responses are giving me an optimistic outlook. The main ramps I use are Oatley bay, Tunks Park, Brooklyn and apple tree bay. They all seem like decent ramps that aren't too steep? thanks again
  7. Hi all, I've got a 2004 v6 Camry that has a towing capacity of 1600kgs (with brakes). I was looking to get a boat and wandering whether I would be able to tow a 15ft fibreglass boat or am I limited to tinnys? Even if the boat with all addons was under the max rating, if still b concerned with the lack of grip on the boat ramp. I know it's quite a generalised question but any advice would be appreciated thanks

    tinny on botany

thanks nathen, went out today and it was ok. hopefully i can make it out again in a fortnight and might drop it in further back before the bridge to explore. too many spots to try and very little time :-/ most of the day today i spent around the run ways (damn noisy) and inside molineaux point. had a pretty good intro to the bay with silver trevally. man they're fun on bream gear! cheers!

    tinny on botany

Hey all, I've got a ally craft 3.75 tinny which ive been using for the past couple decades to fish pittwater, cowan creek and the rest of the hawkesbury. I generally float between flint n steel and juno point and have only taken it out to lion island on rare occasions (due to my paranoia) I'm taking my dad out this weekend and since it looks like it's going to b decent weather, I was thinking of giving botany bay a try. I took a trip to bare island today just to have a look around and even with the tuggies, the bay seemed quite smooth. I guess my question is, i've done a fair bit of research about the potential weather hazards in the bay and wanted to get some opinions on whether it was manageable for a tinny to putt around molineaux point and around the runways. I guess besides the weather the tugs and huge shipping liners coming in would be concerns Any thoughts would be really appreciated. I'm thinking of trying the ramp off shag point but if i can. Thanks!
  10. ahhh u srs?!? last thing i want to do is b in a high traffic/noisy area.. i remember fishing from the marina and hearing the bridge go up.. wasnt the most soothing sound lol i know what u mean! when its cold and the wind is kicking ur a55, seeing the steam come off my bacon & eggs and my coffee makes it so much better!
  11. Thanks Bream. Yea since i've been fishing cowan i've got plenty of rope but it's good to double check! the weather doesn't look good, im still determined though...might take a portable burner and have something warm to eat while im out there
  12. hahaha thanks i thought about. I'm hoping the weather will deter most ppl :-)
  13. Thanks guys, Yea I'm coming from the mosman side although I was planning to go out on the public holiday but I must have been living under a rock because I only just now saw the weather forecast for the week It sucks since I get very little time to throw a line in and don't have the luxury of choosing when to go, if I don't get out it might b another month or 2 before I get another chance. I guess it'll give me time to put in a bilge pump Cheers
  14. Hi All, Just wanted to know if it was safe to take my tinnie down to the spit. I've solely fished in pittwater, hawkesbury river and was looking for a change. As I don't know the water and since it's not far off the big blue sea (not to mention middle harbor), would it be safe to drop it in around there? Also, there's a boat ramp off the main road but having a look on google maps, it doesn't look that great... has anyone used this or would know a better place to drop it in (if i can)? THanks, Jsm
