LOCATION: Shaving Point, Metung, Gippsland Lakes CONDITION OF RAMP/ACCESS: Good. The Ramp was re-done about 12 months ago. It can be a bit slippy further down - we recently had a 4WD and trailer end up going for a swim backwards. But the ramp takes two trailers at a time and has a couple of jetties each side. PARKING/FACILITIES: Heaps of parking. BBQ and tables. Fish Cleaning Table with water. Toilets. Can fish off the point if you don't want to put the boat in!

Vic Bream comp recently held by the Metung Hotel in the Gippsland Lakes in Victoria resulted in 325 fish caught and released over 2 days by 60 teams of two. Largest was 1.85kg. Most of the teams I saw fishing in Bancroft Bay and the River Tambo were using soft plastics. Some teams found it a bit slow, but others just tore it up. Cooler water is definitely slowing things down.
