  1. Try Selleys Liquid Nail from Bunnings.
  2. I used to have a 2003 CRV, and I've had it up on the hoist and have seen all 4 wheels moving. They are a constant 4wd. 1500 towing capacity? Thats a joke... 4.5m boat would be the max you would tow. Anything bigger than 4.5m, you need better towing vehicle. When you eventually upgrade cars, go diesel. Gl.
  3. Hi Donna, From reading Fabs original post, it seemed like he genuinely thought that we had 26,000 active members who were not doing their part and contributing to this site. So my reply to Fab was letting him know that there's probably not that actual amount active, it was a genuine reply that was not intended to be harmful or derogatory. I think because this is the internet and not a face to face conversation, messages may be conveyed differently. I've been a member since 2011 and provided 1000 posts trying to do my part. I've also contacted you personally via email when the site has been down etc and offered my help. I'm a little taken back and at the same time apologize if I have offended you in anyway. David
  4. If the web admin did a SQL query on "active" members, with a criteria of say the last 6 months, I'm sure the results returned is much less than 26,000.
  5. You should have posted in the Boating section
  6. Do the research get the software and cable, and all you need to do is check for error codes. Don't be afraid guys, its not rocket science.
  7. I didn't know what a trag was until we landed one at Long Reef on a live yakka in the morning, I thought it was a jewie.
  8. I'm with Scratchie. I hate confrontation, and even worse I hate violent irrational people. I have a family to go home to, why would I want to get involved in something which I have no authority over. If you want to confront them fine, you may as well confront the millions of dickhead hoons on our roads tailing gating and weaving dangerously and road raging on others.
  9. Awesome thanks for the info guys much appreciated. Will be spending this weekend up there with the family, swimming, fishing, can't wait!
  10. Are there any bar crossings that I need to be wary of?
  11. Hi Raiders, Taking the family up to my cousins holiday house at Swansea heads. I've never been up there and looking to get some fishing in, both land based and boat. Any tips and local knowledge would be much appreciated, PM's also welcomed! Thanks, Dave
  12. Hey Jim, I was out at Longy today too, I was the first boat there. We were there from about 6:30am to 10:30am, all baby kings! And we sounded out so much bait balls too, DR-ing through them with whole live squid, only to be hit by baby 40cm kings, biggest was 61 but no legals, such a waste! We sounded inside Middle Harbour as well, along seaforth etc, sounder showed nothing. Dave
  13. Ah right... I didn't fit the rubber washer and I took the boat out to longy today, lucky it didnt come off! Will put the rubber washers on the weekend thanks mate. FYI so many baby kings outside, we were pulling up 45cm-60cm kings, such a disappointing day after spending so much effort to get live squid.
  14. Hey Shakey, I also just purchased the SE SPORT 400 (recommended by Stewy in an older post). Mine came with the normal circular half indented thingy that sits on the bottom, but it also came with a round rubber washer too. Are we supposed to fit this too? I was unclear on the youtube video they have for this installation. Dave.
  15. Hey Mick, You're spot on mate. Dusk to dawn life jackets are mandatory. I seen Martime pull up people at the spit at 3am for not wearing life jackets. Dave
  16. also just a heads up, crab traps are banned in that area
  17. I just hear so much "nancy fancy jibberish" about not using fuel that's more than say 3 months old, it could destroy your engine blahblahblah and its always from someone who has heard it from someone else. Bottom line, I've used 6month+ old fuel and my engine hasn't blown up. Been doing it for years.
  18. There's no hard data of fuel going off... I think its another big myth... I've used fuel that's like 6 months old with no issues. And adding stabil to the fuel, I reckon that's another pile of baloney. How can such a tiny ratio of liquid somehow keep fuel going for another 6+ months. I would love to see some hard data and proven scientific evidence to support old fuel not to be used in engines.
  19. Hi Frank, I was down there a few weeks back, fishing off the pier near the boat ramp early morning. Beautiful place to fish, I only pulled up chopper tailor and other small colourful fish. Good luck and happy 70th! Dave
  20. I just use 1 heatshrink and use 2 small cable ties on each end.
  21. Depends on the grease. If its marine grade (typically dark blue in color), then exposure to water is fine as it will not mix. If its normal grease, like those Timken tubs of red grease, they are no good and will muddy up and seize your bearings within a few outings. You can usually tell by an muddy grease around your bearing buddy. Also jack up the trailer and spin the wheel on both sides, see if there's any difference.
  22. Just wanted to point out, if you have a braked trailer you will need to undo the wheel bolts and remove the wheel, to access the nuts to undo the brake caliper in order to remove the hub.
