Been trying to troll skirts and divers at the same time - a mixed bag to cover all options the divers are halco pro lasers or rapala magnums but usually everytime the divers get skipped across the water as the speed is too fast. any slower and the skirts don't do their bubble thing. usually going @ about 15kmh atleast. Is the trick to get some high speed trolling divers?

Yep RIPCHARTS are RIPOFFS They have instroduced the premium service and now the non premium shots are incomplete and covered in cloud. The good clear days are "premium" only. Thus you are forced to upgrade to get a good look at the temps. My expiry is up next month and I wont be renewing and will tell them why.

Got to Botany Wide fad with livies picked up a few dollies, then we started trolling to the temp break towards browns and this bull decided to enquire our spread at about 150fathoms it was green at the boat and took off with our gaff for another run, in the end had to tail rope the golden bull

as long as you have good braid and leader i dont see why not. will be very hard in the shallows, but in deep water will be ok. as long as the kings cant find anything to cut you on, or you dont hook a huge hoodlem you will enjoy the fun with gomoku

Ive got a blue and a red one On the blue ive got 30lb rainbow depth braid on a Stratic 5000 On the red ive got 15lb braid on a sedona 4000 On sunday it was a calm day so i was able to get 150-200gr jig down at 12mile - if there was any breeze i would have struggled not sure how the blue gomoku would handle 250gr jigs, but im gonna try it next time, because there is minimal jigging fatigue from these rods. but if i hooked a 1m+ hoodlem i'd be in all sorts of trouble i reckon

u can use them for anything. yesterday i got my slimeys on the blue one and then thru a jig on @ 12mile and picked up 2 kings going 85cm awesome fun

IMO there is no right or wrong way, its your own technique my right hand/arm is stronger personally - i wind with my left hand for light gear and wind with my right on heavy gear. yes i have my different combos setup this way. mostly because game fishing reels usually come with right handed handles - you have harnesses to hold the rod, u can swap hands to hold the rod, but ultimately your strong hand is going to pack the stamina down to wind in big fish. but at the end of the day you can adapt whenever you like. it only takes a few outings on the other hand to get a new rythym. as long as your not one of those guys that holds an overhead upsize down and winds backwards just to maintain the same hand. lolzzz

they are great for unattended rods - i dont like manually setting the drag everytime, so the baitrunner switch is very handy the reels themselves are also robust

if they are launching jigs and intimidating (boat rage), they should be reported to maritime. rego numbers, boat names for all to see, and even a gopro of the dogs inthe act

its a tough gig charters in SE Asia - the place is basically fished out. i have mate that trolls everyday to island cliffs so tourists can jump off - maybe 1once every 3 months he will pull a fish. your best bet is to take the squid gear, there is always plenty of those buggers

#1 rule before buying a boat is doing some research of the said boat, especially on forums/websites for what ur gonna use the boat for, ie fishing, skiing, recreational. this will give you an idea what others are doing in the same boat. ie conditions they are using it in, how far offshore they have been no salesmen can tell you the right answer. your own experience will carve your knowledge of what u can and cannot do in different boats and different conditions some people will fish offshore in anything, some people want to be comfortable, the person that wants to be comfortable will have a different opinion of the person that will fish any conditions. everyone has different standards, opinions and risk tolerance/perception, but boats have loads more variables than cars (if u wanted to compare), so really the only right answer for each person comes from their own experiences. unlike a car where most peoples experiences are the same, ie flat roads, speed limits, traffic. As other have mentioned. Baby steps. Start with the cliffs, then inner reefs, then FADs, then PEAK/12 mile, then u will have a better understanding if u can go farther and what risks are involved

ive seen some small boats, but one shouldnt judge them without knowing the skipper. the evolution of the trailer boat (stability/reliability/fuel economy etc) means we are seeing more small boats go farther out than ever before.

so our boats Navman GPS has failed on us. the antenna wont pick up satellites in the acquring screen and just hangs, its the 5430 model. this prompts us to switch to mobile and navionics cut a long story short, we were using navionics on my mobile 10kms east of browns. it was working like a dream how does mobile navionics work when out of phone coverage?
