  1. Have now sorted it out, local boat shop had a second hand gauge to try which worked, so looks like gauge was at fault.
  2. Most sounders wont work correctly out of water due to the air gap between transducer and the ground. surprised you say it worked good out of water before.
  3. Carrolls springs at smithfield manufacture/repair and reset springs Geoff, good quality and price.
  4. Castrol super outboard plus is a good oil, as hard to get the Quicksilver stuff except from boat shops.
  5. Cheap shit rubbish! you get what you pay for, they are under powered poorly built bits of rubbish.my old work now sells them, they are trouble.
  6. Hi,anyone able to help tell me how to test my tilt & trim gauge? sender is working fine, but gauge goes up to full up as soon as key on, and only goes down just below the up line with key off, it is on a 1987 140hp johnson gauge. would like to make sure it is gauge or just the diode between the sender terminal and the positive terminal on gauge before buying new gauge. thanks.
  7. The instructions with Ezyguide are very good, you have to move boat back on trailer so it over hangs the ezyguide rollers by around an inch, also you fit it at home without the springs to get correct location, then drill holes for brackets, fit the brackets without the rollers, then take boat down to ramp, launch boat, fit rollers and springs, reload boat and check, also when its fitted you on only back trailer in until rear roller is in the water, too deep and boat will just float make ezyguide less effective. ezyguide are cheapest through Bias, cheaper than online shops.
  8. Only other thing I can think is drive around and look for factories or industrial units with car parks and locked gates and ask about renting a spot off them.
  9. Hi, what about self storage shed places? I live at Taree and all the self storage places around here rent outdoor spaces for boats, caravans etc for as little as $10 per week. maybe worth a try?
  10. They are cheap second hand as basically once out of warranty they are too expensive to repair, I think you would be a lot better off in the long run buying a Toyota or Nissan etc, better value for money and hold real their value.
  11. Go to an auto upholsterer they will point you in right direction.
  12. Hi, I sprayed my trailer with Penetrol, then sprayed the Galmet on top, I wanted to make sure I got everywhere, I did it over 6 months ago,I live right near saltwater so always in the elements, there is no sign of rusting at all, some of my trailer isnt even proper gal underneath due to repairs and mods, I cant fault it.
  13. Hi geoff, I used Penetrol on my trailer,I sprayed the Penetrol on to get all nooks and crannys. then painted using Galmet, no need for primer when using penetrol. worked great, no sign of any rust coming back yet.
  14. Hi, go to the coast gaurd building at harrington and pick up the map, it has gps coordinates of a lot of grounds around crowdy and further north, in between crowdy and north to blackhead there is some close in reefs, good for snapper, flathead etc. excellent weather here now. glad I live here! woo hooo!
