Great story lol! I actually caught my first Aussie salmon too yesterday! very exciting stuff, good fight and went on to catch another 4-5, i kept the first one and released the others. Mate, i remember my uni days too and sure dont miss them!. Always had my gear in my car ready to go and made excuses to go, "have to wait for traffic to ease up so ill go have a fish" Grats on ur catch!

Hi guys, Just got back from my favourite chill out spot just because the weather looked really nice. It was low tide and just threw out a few prawns. Fairly quiet nite, pulled out a couple nice snappers that looked pretty nice. Didn't bother measuring them because i was just gonna throw them back in. I was wondering about people's thoughts on the water quality in that area, would you take any fish home with you? I heard that pretty much anything in the Parra River is not that clean which is why i release anything i catch. hey was there today for a few hours too! caught a couple salmons but after sunset could only manage trevallies so I went home. I get a bit worried about the birds there too sometimes when I reel in praying they wont get hooked >< I only seemed to have luck with pillies, tried garfish for a while but didn't even get a single nibble for an hour (trying to get my first kingy). Has anyone else tried garfish there with any luck? Good luck tomorrow!
