  1. Just bumped into this report and saw you were using the bent minnow. I head down to gippsland chasing bream and perch . I have herd some good things about the lure and am keen to get a couple and practice down at the lake. What colours would you recommend for bream. Cheers
  2. Have been meaning to go there myself. How is it putting the yak in there, and how is the walk from the car to the water???
  3. nice fish, I fish it pretty often but have stopped as its mayhem down there atm. There are some big girls in there. You are in the right area for sure, the bream hang around the yellow marker in the afternoon and also under the bridge. The second island is a good spot as there are a few nice drop offs and you can only fish them but boat or yak,
  4. nice , were you at the front or back of the lake, ive seen a heap of crabs while prawning near the caravan park. Scooped up 2 but they were in berry so I let them go. also got an octopus on plastic as well.. ill start fishing it again after Australia day when all the holiday makers have gone. But with the water nice and warm those big girls should be in the shallows for sure.
  5. yeah mate, I went for a walk down near the caravan park last Australia day, it was out of control with all the undersize fish being caught, went back that night and it was like a bomb site, the worst thing was all the left over coals just dumped on the waters edge. does my head in, ah well they will be gone soon lol
  6. Were you out on sat or sunday, I think I spoke to you. I managed 1 40cm flatty at the bridge and a few hits near the island. I fish it very often and we just have to wait until at least Australia day for the big flatties to be out sunbaking in the shallows. Far to much boat and surface traffic atm. Saw I guy at the bridge keeping some undersize bream , far out. Im not sure how you would even get a feed of these fish. Was going to make a call but wasn't sure of the number here in nsw. is it 13fish. ?????? and does anyone no the response time.
  7. had a big zero as well at Scotland island as well, micro bait everywhere, yackas galor, but the kings never showed. everytime the kings are around the baits not and vice versa. fun and games
  8. Awsome thanx fellas i appreciate the help
  9. G'day raiders, just after some help on an outfit to flick smaller plastics at kings, was out on the weekend and had a school busting up on small baitfish. The only thing I hooked up on was my 2kg bream outfit with a wriggler on it but fair to say I had no chance of landing it as it almost spoiled me. Any info would be greatly appreciated , cheers
  10. cheers, cant wait to get back out there
  11. Just realised king are like grand finals, you have to loose one b4 you win one, cracker morning Had a massive school bust up at first light this morning around lovit bay, Kings spraying tiny whitebait everywhere, threw every plastic, metal hardbody at them for nada. Then I grabbed my 2kg out fit with 8 lb braid on it, wacked a blood worm wriggler at them and after the 50th cast bang, I now no what its like to have a king on the line after chasing them for so long. This thing didn't no it was hooked till I started putting a bit more pressure on it then it was on, no stopping it on this line, I was almost spooled and had to put a bit more pressure on and bang, pulled the hook, KILLA. Kept throwing slugs for nada, So I put out my old trusty snapper combo with a poor mans down rigger and a squid strip. paddled around the school and after 10 min the thing buckels over and im on. But this feels massive and heading for the morings. I lock it up and SNAPPPPPPP goes old faitfull and the fish. Well its time for a new outfit , ive pulled in 4kg snapper on that in Melbourne but the king destroyed it. Ah well ill head out tomorrow for another crack, Anyone no of a good lure or plastic to use in this situation. cheers
  12. nice work mate. cant wait to dong my fist king on the yak.

  15. Hey Raiders, just came across this post trying to add to my road trip fishing cd, this is the first song on it, just gets the ball rolling http://youtu.be/RJEsSgSW5DU gonna catch all the fish, gonna drink all the beer, hahahahah brad paisley, champion.
  16. i think the rain worked in my favour, there was not one paddle boarder and a hand full of yakers, so the fish were not getting spooked on the flats. normally there so many around the islands, cheers
  17. i was going to flick some blades and hard bodies but the plastic was killing it.
  18. haha far from that, its a great place to fish cheers
  19. yeah the PA 12, sold the boat and havnt looked back, cheers
  20. Been fishing Narrabeen for a year now as i just moved out this way 2 years ago. Caught more doughnuts than fish through that time but today was the day i was waiting for. On the water at 7.30 and the sky was grey and the rain looked like it might drop in. Headed over to the first sand bar and started flicking my favourite new plastic around the drop off ( savage prawn ). After watching Guestys fishing show on working the drop offs. I positioned myself in 4mt and throwing my plastic on the sand and hoping it back with long pauses. 5th cast in i see the line tighten and i take up the slack but no good, i let it rest again and bang, a nice 50 cm flatty, i was pumped. The light rain started but i was happy as, paddle back over and started working the drop off again and bang, a nice bream at 29 . Coming from vic ive only ever caught big black bream but far out do these yellow fins go hard in shallow water, after a heap more casts i headed over to the next bank and bang, was onto another bream at 28 , by now the rain was coming down hard but i didn't care, i out up the bimini, ( golf umbrella ) and kept working the bank, next cast the reel screams off and the rod tip was bouncing, it hits the surface and the big girl ive been hearing of in the lake appears, she looked 80cm but it was probably smaller, the excitement always makes them bigger. I was on 6lb leader so i was stressing out as it towed me around. it came to the surface again, head out of the water and with the longest head shake ever, she spat the hook, noooooooooooooooooooo. it was hard to be disappointed as she was going back in the drink but it would have been nice to get a pick. Straight back over to the bank and bang, a little tailor to throw into this crazy session. 2 more cast and bang again, i couldn't believe it, in comes another flaty at 48. I was soaked but sessions at Narrabeen never happen like this for me so i didn't care. 4 nice fish in the yak for me, the darls and jnr i thought you no what, thank you fish gods, im done. The best 1hr sesson on the water ever. Left them biting hoping the the fish gods show me good carma next time i head out. Im almost glad i didn't get the big girl in. Just like in the old movies. I no Big Birtha is in there, and ill keep heading out till we meet again hahahah. And if i never tangle with her again, the story can be past down to my kids and by then that girl will be a monster lol.
  21. are you aallowed to camp there, awesome spot
  22. cheers guys, I was after that fish for a while.
  23. FINALLY got my first EP at Marlo on the snowy river. Saw a fish jump around a big snag and paddled straight over. First cast right in the spot and Bang. Have always wanted to catch one of the so called Ninjas of Marlo, Great fighter. I was so pumped I was singing angry andersons bound for glory at the top of my voice to my mate who was still putting up his tent , hahahahah , he was dirty as lol. She went right on 40cm and got it on the savage prawn plastic, 4lb mono. We were there for the bream but the water was so fresh there were none to be found. We got a few taylor and a few flatties. It didn't matter , I was stocked with that fish , made the trip the snag sorry about the sideways pic. not sure wats happened there
  24. Yeah mate its up the top end of Bay view near the Yacht racing club. We got the squid just in front of the boats. It was actually in the morning. there goes that saying red sky in the morning hahahahah. Just started over that side as I saw some guys get some nice fish at the barges on Scotland island so been going there a bit. Id love to go to longy, how far is the paddle from the ocean ramp there. Ill give that spot a go for the yaccas next time. Last 2 times iv burleys hard I got swarmed by sweep. Cheers for the advice
