That should be fine. Try the weed beds around palmy for squid, and there have been some good flattys about 100m to the right of Taylor's bay wharf which is kinda near Avalon. Good luck
  3. Caught a really small one opposite to the spit bridge on a plastic!
  4. Try carrel bay wharf, located 2 minute drive from Avalon. Make sure you berkely a lot.
  5. Great result! Which plasric and colour produced the most fish?
  6. Yeh Newport is producing good fish at the moment. If there are no sambos, head up to plamy which is only and further 15 mins, because their are heaps of good whiting and bream there.
  7. Differnt baits will work differntly according to the location of where your fishing. If the system you are fishing is has squid, then generally squid will be the number one bait. Yakka or slimies would then be next followed by tailor and even a very flesh slab of bonito (or any other really oily fish)
  8. That is a very very nice fish! I am truely jealous.
  9. Depends what your using, if using bait I'd go a 6000 size real with a 6-10kg rod with 30lb braid and 30-50lb leader to play it safe invade a big hoodlum comes along. If using plastics and other lures go for a 3-6 kg rod and the 4000 sienna sounds great. The problem with using 10kg line is you won't be able to fit that much onto the spool. Try 10-16lb line which will mean more line, better casting but still enough strenght (if fought well) to land a sizable king. Good Luck mate and I hope I helped. Tight lines Jennings
