  1. Thanks for that info kel, I'm actually more keen on catching the flatties over bream, just because I love the beer battered lol. Blue bottle: there was actually not to many people out probably because I was there pretty early and it was my first time in the bay in my little tinny so I was just taking it easy to see how the boat would handle. But your not wrong about the runway it looks like a prime spot.
  2. Hey keflapod I got 6 in total, and it was on the airport side not far from kyeemagh boat ramp
  3. Unfourtantly i did have anything to weigh them, But they were fat as. think i might have to invest in some scales. Thanks for the advice Kel i will be sure to give Z mann plastics out as those tailor were annoying, also what size jig head do you recommend??
  4. Hi raiders, Decided to finally get out on the water on Saturday after all this bad weather. I launched the tinny at kyeemagh boat ramp and ventured out. I started using squidgy soft plastics but kept losing the tails to tailor. So I threw out some fresh pillies. Within minutes I was on to my first keeper bream, then one after the other the biggest one was almost 38cm. It was good to finally get on the water and just made me more keen to get out again.
  5. Try George's river any where from chipping norton down to como, Tom uglys bridge. I've caught flattie, bream trevally in there they also get Jewies in there. Normally I use soft plastics, and fresh bait normally pillies.
  6. Nice little tinny you got champ! Where abouts are you based?
  7. Bad days fishing always beats work, still cant complain with that haul

    Tinny advice

Thanks for the info guys, I will be sure to get one of those maps. I think for now i will only go on a calm day and not venture to far from launching point until i have a bit of experience with the bay.

    Boat upgrade

Hi raiders, After read many post about how to install false floors in a tinny I finally decided to give it a go! I used 12mm marine ply and 3mm 25mm x 25mm aluminium, a lot of people suggested welding the alum. I'm not the best at welding especially aluminium so I just riveted it. All up it cost about $180 but allows more storage space and a casting deck. Next mod is to carpet the seat add a few chairs from BCF, a bait board, a few rod holders and maybe a coat of paint. If anyone has any tips on painting that would be awesome!

    Tinny advice

Hi fellow raiders, I'm keen to try Botany Bay in my 12ft 8hp tinny, I was wondering if this would be able to handle the bay and if so were would be a good spot to start. I don't want any secret spots lol just a few tips for a beginner, I'm keen on soft plastics and have a large range which I have used with success in the George's river but lately I've been keen to try somewhere new. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
  13. Hey mate i was just using salted pilchards.
  14. Thanks Guys. I was really impressed with the georges river as i just moved to sydney from newcastle and didnt think there would be much fishing to be done around this area. hopefully i can bag a few more. And yeah i love penn reels there great quality and easy on the hip pocket too!!
  15. Hey guys, sorry for the late post just been a bit busy. I hit up the georges for a solo mission on saturday. i launched the boat at moorebank and headed to down to como, With not much luck except for a few small bream i decided to call it a day. I seen a nice little spot on the way back near picnic point i decided to have one last cast and with in minutes my second rood started goin nuts, By the time i got to the rod the fish had gone( Knowing my i probably just missed my chance of landing a jewy). A bit dissapointed i was going to call it quit the minutes later BANG!!! With a nice fight i finally pulled in a 40CM Bream. All In all it was a great day on the water.
