  1. This is great news sign me up. I don't have a problem paying a fee to be a member . The site owners have been great and have given up so much to keep this site afloat. Hats off to Mrs Swordfisherman and Stewy . For the other guys that have an issue with fees I just think you just have to have a better think about it. Troy
  2. Hi , Stapo good to see your out and fishing again . You will have to give the smokes up. You don't want to start down the path of to many heart problems. It's good to see The Entrance is still firing up with the Blackfish. I use to see you down the Lake . Moved to the Entrance in 2010 forced retirement heart problems. I left the Entrance in May 2016 to go back to Sydney for Heart Transplant received a heart transplant September 31 2016. I smoked for 20yrs until July 2007 . I had a Complete heart rebuild to the left ventricular in sept 2007. And haven't touched the smokes since 2007. I am still recovering and haven't fished since the Blackish Season 2015 at The Entrance . I am writing this at St Vincent's Hospital, I am just here for a check up. Mate I hope you have a good recovery do not rush it, and keep fishing .
  3. Hi mate, that is an impossibility for most of us . I will be watching the responses on this post.
  4. HI mate, you can use Inox Mx8 or Yamaha grease is recommended on Alan Tani on his site. Alan uses it check on his site for all recommended products for reel maintenance.
  5. Yeh great reels. They definitely have there uses in many instances. First reel I owned and will not part ways ever.
  6. Chucks, I have some sketches of lures and best positions that I put together when I spent a lot of time fishing and decking on boats for extra cash I was very lucky. When we work the other lure out i will gladly give you a copy . But also remember conditions as it depends on the day . Fished on a lot of boats plus my own and if you are lure fishing you should work hard our success depended on how much we worked the lures.
  7. Yeh Damo, There is 2 in the Bart bag that came from compleat angler from there first order . Just needed them after looking at them , but the Pakula' s have won more trophies for me Port Hacking 50th ann, Botany Bay, Bermagui yellowfin comp. Got serious for a couple of years and won all before forced retirement at 35 , 2007. Also would never get rid of my custom leather bound Ian Miller strokers they will end up on the wall of the man cave with there Tiagras and a gold lure I won for the 50th.
  8. Chucks , don't mean to tease any one . Just got in on one of last shipments from Joe Yee through Bill Heaton before the tackle shop closed down after he sold. Got the PM just give me time to work out cost a bit of research to keep it reasonable. I will still try to help you and NACIH20K9 with the lures . But the rest will be put on sale in the correct section of Fishraider when I have had time to go through the lot. When it comes to no 1 lure , there are favourites but I would have to say where . Pakula Medium sprocket has been probably the most productive all round lure for Sydney, Bermagui and Port Stephens for myself . This lure seems to be the rite size and has caught stripe , black , small blue marlin , all types of tuna , dolphin fish if it swims I have caught it with this lure. Favourite colours would be Lumo, Blue Angel , Blue Hawian , Dorado. If you have a good look at the photo of all the lures . You will notice one bag full of one type and heaps of different combinations . That bag is full of med sprockets that will definitely not be sold as I think it will stay with me and a small amount of other lures for life.
  9. Yeh Chuck , there is couple of apollos in amongst them I am pretty shore there is an evil and a purple and pink .
  10. Yeh Mate, if you look at the BART bag top 3 pockets all but 1 Lure all Joe Yee lures. And there is couple bubbles together brand new . Same colour configuration got a record for best lure colour for lasting 5 mins at Interclub Port Stephens 1 year lost to massive Blue Marlin I had a new one Shipped in before the next week by plane . Talked the lure up for a couple of weeks before tournament the next week was called off because weather . I never got to use it. And now am retired as mentioned will reply to your Pm as soon as work out price. Not trying to talk up these lures don't have to.
  11. Hi NaCIH20KG, If you are still trying to get Joe Yee lures I might be able to help. I have been retired from Game Fishing, bream flathead and small fish is my new outlet. The attached photos showing lures will be sold off in the near future a few will be kept as have to many great memories. As mentioned there is Joe Yee , BART, Marlin Magic, JB , Pakula , Moldcraft , Zukers , Williams and others . I still have other lures not shown. A great amount of them are brand new and fully rigged as per Agfa rules. Also I will be getting rid off all my gear to much to mention. The gear I will be selling on Fishraider soon.
  12. Mate, good to hear you are having a go. The following list of greases and cleaners that can be used aerosol can of carbie cleaner, white methylated spirits clean drag washers . Lubricants I am presently using after research grease Inox MX8 , Yamalube Grease , bigger reels like TIAGRAS, TLDS, ACCURATE 'S etc. Baitcast reels and also Spinning reels I use shimano permalube , you can also use the above mentiond MX8 and Yamalube but the viscosity is a bit higher. For Drag washers I use as follows shimano TBMO , ACE 2 and CALS drag grease. I cut all my own Drag washers from carbontex to upgrade reels as I replace the felt ones. Gears I use the same MX8 and Yama or ACE2 as it can also be used as for gears multi purpose like CALS. All of these lubricants are not needed just pick a few as it can start getting expensive . As mentioned I have a lot as I do rebuilds and upgrades to a lot of reels. I also use INOX PLUS, INOX MX3 and LANOX to keep this reels in top condition and corrosion free as possible. I will let you pick up most of the tools required from Alani Tani's site as theis a good place to start .Being new to your new hobby I will give some pointers I remember when I first started and a few pit falls . Have a little camera handy can be really handy especially if you have to box all parts for later to complete as a newbie after a few you get a sense of part assembly without even with the schematics. A small set of tweezers are also handy , magnifying glasses for very small parts. The most important thing don't be overwhelmed as there is a lot information these days on the internet on most reels. Most suppliers are good to source parts and this can save you a lot of money . I am retired at 43 and all I do now is play with reels and Cruz the net unfortunately I have a medical condition or would have said send it to me and I would have done it for free except parts keeps me busy . Have a go if you have to many problems with it give me a pm . As I was told on Monday I will have to stay on the lounge at least a few months so I now have a lot of time coming free now. But have a shot as it is a lot of fun and also I get the satisfaction and also know the reels is in top condition. You get a lot reels with not enough lubricants in brand new boxes I would hate to mention some of these Brands.
  13. Mate, if you ever have a problem with a reel be it conventional or spin reel . Check alan tani's site there is hundreds break up of reels most brands it is a main hob for guys who repair or service reels around the world and a heap of pros that will help. They post a lot of information regarding upgrades , materials, tools, lubricants etc. Alan is a pleasure to deal with as he sends reel bearing grease packers he designed all around the world.
