  1. Hi all. Thanks so much for your feedback. Really good points to know for next rego label. Thanks again!
  2. Hi all, I've just taken off my rego sticker and after a year it has baked onto the window which means I had to use a small blade to peel off and scratched the living crap out of the window. Just wondering if anyone has other suggestions on placing the sticker on Perspex windows so as to avoid more scratching next year. Many thanks in advance. Stav
  3. Hi all, Just wondering if I can get some advice on this. Starting to get into the SP fishing out at Peak. Hardware will be nitro magnum butt 3-6kg rod running 20lb braid on shimano twinpower 4000. What are some good plastics and jig head weights and what is the preferred leader weight that will work out there? Any suggestions would be great Thanks,
  4. Hey mate, I got the revival 5.25. Now, not a bad boat but I must say quality of finish remains questionable. I was at the launch last year and the show model looked superb,I am not confident that the same level of consistency would remain across every production unit. There is also one dealer in NSW of this brand and after sales care of this product is questionable as well. I would take the advice of others in this topic and look at other options especially if you are buying new and want quality. Cheers, Hooked on
  5. G'day Gary, thanks for that. Will definitely call Cheers
  6. G'day everyone, I took my opti 115 for its first annual service today and was somewhat surprised for the price I was charged. Before I get further into this, I am very new to boating so you will need to excuse my ignorance. So, total price was $574 for first annual service with the motor having done 53 hours. What I want to find out from any opti 115 owners is if this price is fair and competitive in the Sydney market. The breakdown as per my invoice was: Annual service $395 labour Parts $ 149.70 (impeller kit, 3 drain plug washer, 1 fuel filter and gear oil) Shop parts $30 Having inspected from the outside, I saw that anodes were original, no new grease in all the grease points both motor and trailer The shop will remain nameless but I ask if this is a fair price? I am not convinced that there was $574 worth of work done. I was also told that trailer wheel bearings were inspected and okay; this was not stated on the invoice. I suppose another thing that has frustrated me is the fact that when I was purchasing the boat the salesman told me firmly that the standard annual service would not cost me more than $350-$450. I would love to hear feedback and advice. Also to avoid breaching site policy, please pm me for any referrals to good mercury service shops or if I can call to get further advice. Again, please excuse my ignorance as I am new and want to get good advice from you. Many thanks in advance, Hooked on. Sent from my iPad
  7. Thanks very much for the replies guys. I think I may go the magnum butt. Whilst there is no great single all rounder, it seems as though the magnum butt will serve the closest to this. Thanks again
  8. Hi guys, Was wondering if anyone has had much experience with these. I'm trying to decide on which stick to match up to my twinpower 4000 running 20lb braid and 30lb spools. Main use is to flick sp's up to 7" jerk shads for kings, Jewies, with the focus on kings. I suppose what I'm getting at is who has had experience with each in Sydney waters and which will be the better pick to maximize use? Also what would be the limits of the sticks; magnum butt in particular. Thanks for your replies in advance
  9. Hello mate, I just did the same exercise and looked at Scotty's and cannon. Was introduced to Andy from the downrigger shop here is Sydney. Bought one off him and I just say it is fantastic. Better build quality and very well priced. Good luck with your search.
  10. Thanks heaps for the replies guys. Makes sense to give it a go myself. Cheers!

    Botany Bay

Hi Sido, You should be safe in the quinine. You should be okay in some spots. The bay can be a really uncomfortable when the westerlies pick up. Even if you go out past the heads and hang behind the cliffs you should be okay as it protects against the westerly. At the end of the day safety comes first and only go where you feel comfortable. Goodmluckmif young out this weekend. Cheers.
  12. G'day Raiders, I have finally realized how difficult it is to clean the carpet after a day out of bait, fish blood etc Can anyone refer me to someone that can remove carpet and restore the floor back to flow coat finish? Many thanks in advance for your replies. Stav
  13. Gday raiders, Used a mates overhead for the first time and loved it yesterday. Now need some advice on my first setup. I have decided to get a shimano tyrnos but can't choose between the 20/30 and whether or not I get single speed or two speed. Its use for now will be an initial all rounder to cater for live baiting, trolling and jigging. Running 30lb mono. I'm also looking at a 15kg tcurve rod to match. Targets would be small to medium game. Need some help in making my decision from you by telling me the difference between sizes and if I need the 2 gears or not. Many thanks in advance for your advice. Cheers, Stav
  14. Thanks everyone for your responses. Really has helped me form a list and I suppose time to go shopping on the weekend. Cheers
  15. Lol! Love to do that however mrs will have my head on a platter. Operating outside Sydney heads. I have a general mechanical knowledge and kitting for inconvenience not so much survival. The boat has general setup got all the good navigational bits and pieces, smart craft guages, dual batt setup etc. I am more concerned around the motor although new, I agree with Murphy's law. Cheers,
