  1. They're called happy moments ironically because of the sting they can inflict
  2. Great stuff vitaminsea , what an experience for your two crew mates! that's prob something they'd both remember for some time to come, especially the young fella. Bad luck on the sailfish, would have been awesome to get one of those , I'm sure they're both prob eager to head out onto the water again sometime very soon had heaps of fun reading it, great report cheers, Saf
  3. Tasty lookin' guests Thanks for the report, top shelf stuff cheers, Saf

  6. Thanks for the report Leo, quick question mate, did you by any chance get the water temp out there? Just curious as im looking to head out that way, only problem is i don't have a boat lol i usually stick to the wharfs and rocks Cheers, Saf
  7. Hi Cam, Sounds like a good feed indeed! speaking of losses, a mate of mine didn't set the drag properly on his setup, and lost a $500 setup, your def right but there is always something much worse that could happen... such as not catching any fish lol All the yakkas i've caught so far all seem to be roughly med-large, caught a XXXL one the other day, looked like a rat kingy!, from memory only have caught one that was below that average. Thanks for the report, Cheers Saf
  8. Now this is what i should of done when i went last year... instead of skiing lol Top photos, that's a monster salmon and snapper, and those kings... making me want to go back for another few days!! Great report and once again awesome photos!! Cheers, Saf
  9. Hi Dominic, Good report you've compiled there, had fun reading it I've pretty much given up on those servo pilchards and just use fresh bait, works like a charm Great bream you've got there too, nothing like landing something good on the last cast Saf
  10. Nice looking fish mate, sounds like someone had a good dinner great report gets me pumped and wanting to stop working and going fishing straight away !!
  11. beast of a whiting!! you must of been stoked when you pulled that thing out, i think you caught the grand daddy of em all lol
  12. top report reLapse, i've been through that drive in the rnp quite a few times, never liked it much with the blind corners and the steep ledges still yet to venture further and look for a good spot in that area don't know how many times that has happened to me you think everything's under control and then it isn't lol at least it gives us an excuse to come back and hit up our spots again hopefully you get whatever got away Cheers, Saf
  13. Great report mate, enjoyed reading it, still yet to get the hang of beach fishing does my head in every time i try it lol but like a true fishing tragic i always use to the good old trial and error method Cheers, Saf
  14. Hi guys n gals, went up to Swansea this morning with a couple of mates to chase some salmon and hopefully some kings off the rocks, got there nice and early a couple of decent bites but tons of yakkas in the water, caught a nice little groper to start off with, just within the legal size i think, which was alright, kept it alive in a rock pool, however ended up releasing it a little while later considering the fact that i would probably want something a little bigger. As the day went on got one good hook up only for the mystery fish to get away, thought it was a good size bream judging by the way the bait was taken, but my mate told me "you can guess all you like son but you'll never know" ... lol. Eventually tried getting some yakkas, ended up catching 3, one of which was used straight away, no sinker, just a float, was pretty much willing to try anything at that point however, not even a touch on it. Got a couple of gummy sharks i think, released those back as not sure if you can keep those or not and min size, so took the safer option of catch, release and catch another day Had a another setup with a drop sinker and a pilchard, about 30mins after i threw the yakka out, got a massive hit on the pilchard, thought it was going to be something good, fought with it for a good 10-20mins, eventually pulled in a port jackson shark, at least that's what i thought it was, couldn't get the camera out on this occasion unfortunately since i was eager to re-cast, good hook up on it as well on the lip, so i ended up taking out the hook and let the champ roam free again, didn't want to give it a kiss since i don't think im looney enough lol. Bloke next to me asked if he could take it, wasn't sure, but last i checked they're an endangered species if im correct and its meant to be an instant release once you find out you've got one hooked? Anyway, was a good day, saw some dolphins come to within 60-80m of the rocks, it got very windy towards 10am so packed up and headed back into Sydney.
  15. sorry to hear that mate, i was in a similar position not long ago, shed got broken into and gear taken, i just hoped it brought them really rotten luck lol cheers, Saf
