  1. Hi All, Looking for some help with some marks off Bellambi and the Hacking to drift for some Reds - we are not very familiar with areas but plan to get more frequent over the next few months. Any help would be appreciated - preferably via PM. Thanks.
  2. Yeah I think I’ve decided to pass unless I can get his price down far enough to warrant a complete motor change. Any idea on what sort of $$ I can get with an engine like this if sold second hand - possibly for parts?
  3. Hi peeps Looking at buying a used boat around Moreton Bay Area with a 1999 Yamaha V4 130hp Saltwater Series. Motor has approx 500 Hours - used twice in the last year - serviced a year ago - and rebuilt 3 years ago. Bloke reckons motor runs fine - but I’m based in Sydney and don’t want to drive up to see a hairy lemon. Can any raiders recommend anyone honest, knowledgeable and trustworthy around Moreton Bay area who has experience with these two stroke motors that can do a pre-purchase inspection for me? Whats everyone’s opinion on the rebuilt 2 stroke motor? My understanding is a rebuilt 2 stroke is definately better than a rebuilt 4 stroke - but I have never dealt with any boats who have had the word “rebuilt” in their service history. Any assistance would be appreciated.
  4. Has also had the following service recently and this was when the diagnostics were run.
  5. Hi all Looking at buying a boat off a retiree. Boat has run 11 hours in 6 years. Let's not get into the negativities of not running he motor too often. Basically motor idles and runs just fine. Boat presents as new. Only other info I have is a disgnostic report. I was wondering if anyone can assist with providing some more information on the faults found in the report. Cheers.
  6. I'll be in Port Macquarie this weekend. I'm buying a car so I'm flying in in the morning then driving back. I was thinking of going for a flick on the way home but I'm not sure of any spots and can't be bothered carrying gear on the flight. I was considering jumping on a charter. Anyone know of any charters that operate in the afternoon?
  7. Hey people So I've pulled up the floor on my 2005 tabs territory pro centre console as I was curious to see what's down there. I plan on installing a second battery, freshwater deckwash/bladder and some new electronics soon and need access so I thought it would be a good time. I'm thinking of putting dual batteries under the floor... but this is going to require some fabrication which I would prefer not to spend $$ on. I could always just slap the second battery in at the rear but it would have to be slapped in elongated and half the battery will stick out. I'm a bit particular when it comes to having things neat and tidy. I havnt taken measurements yet but I'm hoping I could fit a smaller 12v battery next to my current battery to run electronics. The only issue is ive always thought the idea of having a second battery (apart from running electronics that might drain your battery) was to have the ability to crank the motor if the first one fails, and the battery im looking at as an auxiliary to fit at he rear of the deck is a marine pro 580. My motor is a 115hp Suzuki and I don't think the smaller marine pro is rated to crank motors that size. Any suggestions on this? I've attached a photo of the floor up to give an indication of the layout under the floor. The current battery is visible on the left hand side of the rear. (excuse the disgusting floor in the pic it actually came up pretty nice after a vacuum and a hose)
  8. Considering lumitec seablaze 3 at the moment... Tossing up between blue and green. Any suggestions on colour? Mainly going to be used for squidding.
  9. Just the response I was looking for rexaway1234. The lumitecs look the goods buy boy they are expensive!! I might try out the minis (sold on eBay as twin packs): they are definately less expensive on eBay US. Any other experience with less expensive alternatives? I would hate to go to the trouble of installing to watch a cheaper set fail after 6-12 months.
  10. Any feedback on this reel? It's my budget option to a saragosa at the moment. Primarily being used for live baiting or trolling. Should I opt for the baitfeeder option? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Well that sucks! Any leads on which light you tried? A link to a website would be great... Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Thanks for the reply. I've got a stradic 5000 spoooled with 20lb braid on a blue gomoku. Love this setup but it's my jigging rod and I'm really looking for something for live baiting or trolling: set and forget. Anyone heard anything about the penn spinfisher? This is my budget alternative to a saragosa which I am trying to resist at the moment (I will probably end up giving in soon). Also, for live baiting I've never actually used a baitrunner style of reel - any recommendations on this? Cheers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Hey Peeps Wiring some electronics through the boat soon just wondering if anyone has any experience with LED bung lights? I plan to wire one to the same switch as my anchor light just don't want it to be a rubbish light that doesn't light up the surrounding space well enough. Cheers.
  14. Hey Dave. As I said I'm considering one of these at the moment. It will definitely save me cutting into the aluminum on my boat to install an alternative as I'm guessing you can just run piping straight in/out of the back of the tank. Apart from the damage, how does the whole board/tank present? Is it heavy? I'm thinking of the slip in alternative that can slip into my current rod holders at the rear. Curious to know how heavy it will be on the back with the tank being full. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Will definitely try the sponsors. Thanks for the info. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I like that time saving option thanks for the advice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Great clip mate! Big freaking tuna too! What model rod are you running with the saragosa? Do you live bait or troll with it? What brand and pound braid do you run? Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Great pic John. What rod is that? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Thanks for the reply. I've been thinking Saragosa but it's definitely going to put me over budget.... looks like I might be overspending again [emoji19] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Thought I would add some photos of the scuffs... Clearly the last owner has used something very abrasive and has taken off some of the paint as can be seen in picture 3. Don't want this to happen when trying to remove the rest... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. What gear was that kingy in the final clip caught on?
  22. Thanks for the reply I'll check it out. Fishing off a boat. Im thinking I might be after something a little bigger... but havnt seen the reel yet I'll check it out.
  23. Can also organise delivery of boat to Chatswood NSW + reasonably close surrounding suburbs or anywhere in between Canterbury and Chatswood.
  24. Hey peeps Need some work done on a boat just wondering if anyone can assist with some contacts. I prefer people who are mobile but I guess this isn't absolutely necessary as long as the helper/s are within reasonable distance. I am located in Canterbury NSW. If any raiders have done this work before and willing to assist PM me. Happy to pay for the help with dollars and munchies/drinks. I can buy the stuff and have someone install. Basically I need to get the following done: - dual batteries into the floor: this needs some cutting and welding work - 3mm plate aluminium sheets under the floor. - wiring dual batteries, kill switch, electronics, lights, switch panel - live bait tank install I could possibly do some of this work myself but I don't really have the time. Any assistance with trustworthy, reasonably priced, reliable contacts would be appreciated. Cheers. Bill.
  25. Hey guys Want to chase some big kings this summer I've never used overhead reels before so unsure weather I should make the change or buy a big spin reel. Wasn't really wanting to break the bank on this one. Looking for a bulletproof Rod and Reel for live baiting and trolling under $400 (exc braid). Suggestions on brands/models and pros/cons on overheads/spin reels would be appreciated. Cheers.
