  4. Hey Raiders, Just pulled out all the gear for my annual trip to Greenwell Point and the good ole faithful reel has seized up, it must have got saltwater in it last month while beach fishing, but it was 12 years old so not a bad run out of it. So i am up for new reel for my T-Curve Revolution 2.13m Offshore series, as this is a new rod and i am looking to get some decent flathead, snapper or what ever else is biting i am unsure what reel to put onto it, any feedback would be great.. Gotta get one tomorrow ....
  5. theres a new boat ramp on the wakehurst parkway just down about 300m down from the academy of sport (i think that what it is called) if you just type wakehurst parkway into www.nearmap.com you look for the the big running track and head down across the bridge and you will see it, pretty sure the ramp/park is called "middle creek reserve" it is sign posted on the parkway.. hope it helps..
  6. G'day all, Well it's finally that time when i actually get to kick back for 2 weeks and relax and get away from the Sydney hussle and bustle!! I have trekked up to Potsville 1/2 hr this side of the QLD border, never been here before but on low tide i decided to do my usual of a new spot and check out the local green weed and cabbage spots, found some cabbage on the south break wall on the beach entrance and weed at Hastings point, so that was this morn i ended up with only a few downs and 2 hook ups, so maybe the water is too warm up here for the blackfish...so that brings me to my question....has anyone got any kinda insider knowledge of this area i might try and target the beaches in the morn if thats a no-go i might just try for whiting off the sandy banks in the arvo at high tide, if ya can help me out that'll be great if not i hope you all have a great 2 weeks off if ya lucky enough to if not.....dont work too hard...cheers...
  7. g'day, was looking a buying a rod that is pretty much an all rounder and went into a store at penrith the other day and seen a great rod called the T Curve 1.9m from shimano, it was $199 and it certainly looked like a gun rod, anyone out there got any feedbsck on this rod? I was also looking to get a new reel for it but havent really looked yet i would love some ideas, i am looking at fishing outside a bit, not too far up to about 2miles, i dont want to get a combo that will struggle for the larger fish. Your help if much neded thanks.

  10. Thanks Jew Stalker, In regards to conatacting maritime i assume their channel would be listed at the local boat ramp but what do you usually have to radio in, is there a specific order, boat info, passengers etc, i guess i could just tune into others going out before hand but i just want to be a bit more prepared than the newbie that i am in this field.
  11. Hey all, Just got the new boat and just planning for my annual trip to the south coast (greenwell point)a little bit early mmm only 5 months but was just wondering if anyone has any knowledge of the crookhaven heads bar, i've only ever been in a smaller boat but now i have a boat that is much more capable of tackling the open sea, so i want to make sure if there is any rules of crossing a bar especially crookhaven heads as i dont really have any great experience in this feild and would love some tips on what are the things to look out for. Your input is greatly appreciated.
