  1. Hi guys, For all those who enjoy targeting snapper like myself, does anyone have as much luck on them in the summer as they do in the winter? It seems to me that that don't bite as hard in summer. I'm wondering if it's got anything to do with the fact that, generally speaking, summer brings a lot more baitfish to the water, so are they filling up on these baitfish? Does anyone have as much luck on them in summer as they do in winter? It would be interesting to hear everyone's experience. Thanks! markmako
  2. Great report, Recurve, loved reading it. How shallow is shallow?
  3. Thanks guys appreciate it.
  4. Hi guys I've copped a few scratches to the underneath part of my outboard. Its scratched the bottom of the metal part under the prop a little. Any ideas on whether I should be applying anything on the exposed part where the scratches are? Will it cause any rust? Thanks in advance
  5. I personally wouldn't be trialling it under the Gladesville Bridge as that bridge brings the memories flooding back. I'll never forget, I was with my old man and cousin and we'd taken off from Bayview Park ramp and were heading through Parramatta River up to our fishing spot in the harbour. Anyway as we were approaching Gladesville Bridge in the boat, about 500m away from it, I saw the massive splash about 100m in front of the boat. I initially thought the splash was from someone jumping from the top of the bridge in a suicide attempt - it was that big. I look across at my cousin and said "did you just see that?" thinking he wouldn't know what I was banging on about. He's like "yeah!" To this day we still talk about and the only conclusion we can draw from it is that it was a bull shark chasing down a jewie or a school of tailor etc. Anyway, when I say don't try it here I'm just saying it tongue-in-cheek, I think it would be a good place to start as Dunc suggests.
  6. Mate that is an absolute giant. I thought kingies like this were only seen in NZ. Absolutely incredible catch, well done
  7. I think we've got a future Raider!
  8. Great report there hughsnews, I really enjoyed it. What other species of fish did they have over there? Anything decent for the table? The teeth on those tiger fish are MASSIVE!
  9. Hi rodlox, I was looking at buying from here. The 2105 CC seems to be the ideal option. Bill, what do you mean about the implications in the event of an accident? I understand that you need a permit to tow a boat if the width of the trailer exceeds 2.5m so I thought once you had this permit then everything would be fine. I clearly need to do a lot more research on it as I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to the US style of boat, i.e. large beams. Thank you to both for your input.
  10. Hi Raiders, Just wanted to get an idea if anyone has owned or trialled a Striper? I've been looking at the centre console range and the look like they are finished a lot better than the Australian equivalent CC's. How do they ride, is it a decent hull, etc. And more importantly, how do you get around the issue of the beam being greater than 2.5m (I think it's 2.59m which is very beamy). Thanks in advance Mark
  11. Hi everyone, I am new to the forum, I enjoy reading but have never posted anything so this is my first time contributing! What is everyone's opinion on the above two boats? I want something which is going to handle the demands of offshore fishing as I will be taking it out wide. I really like the idea (or at the theory) behind the Bar Crusher's self-flooding ballast but I would be interest to hear from any BC owner out there just how much it adds to stability at rest. In terms of price, I believe the Noble comes out a little cheaper but I am yet to price the two. Looking forward to your comments. Cheers, Mark
