NIbbles, I mainly chuck 5inch fish arrows with 1/2oz heads. They go for miles and the rod handles. But I wouldn't go chucking anything to much heavier, you could get away with a 3/4oz head though I have many times. If you are going to use anything heavier make sure you only have about 30cm of line from the tip so as the load is exerted over the entire rod blank in the cast. The rod is very fast through the tip it is great for working heavier jigheads, doesn't fold away, however it is also brutal on hookset which is what you want for a jew rod. however, I have pulled the hooks on a few using transams and threadybusters as the fast taper can be a bit much for the trebles, changed over to single hooks haven't had an issue since and can't complain with hookup rates, snag the bottom less to which is an added bonus. it balances up with a reel anywhere from 200 to about 250g beautifully. I run a 4000 on it as 270g which is a little bit over but i don't mind as it makes the rod tip light, and since you are always working the tip up when chucking plastics this can be advantageous when using it for extended periods of time.
