  1. we're getting heaps of photos from customers every few days, unfortunately I don't have much time to post them on here or even on our website anymore , anyway it's all good!
  2. Hey all, I got nothing to report myself but I got a report from a customer who got 2 small blacks and a nice Dollie a little while back on our lures around Norah Canyons. He said they hit patch of them and were hooking them up all over the place for around 2 hours, but most of them threw the hooks as marlin do! I have been hearing a few fishermen are getting marlin up in their spread but they are not taking anything, just looking. If that is the case you can try some of our lures, but make sure you fill them with bait, pillies, squid or stripped tuna, the bait inside might get them striking and not just looking. Go to our website to check them out. http://www.scentblazer.com/ I haven’t been out myself since winter. I’m flat out with work and waiting on my new boat which is taking forever and my current boat is for sale up at Gameboats in Pittwater. http://www.gameboats.com.au/gameboats/boats-for-sale/used/power-boats/caribbean-26-flybridge-sports-fisherman/196884 We’ve been doing well overseas selling lures and managed to get our lures in Wal Mart through a distributor! The Yanks seem to love our lures and we are even making inroads in freshwater market in the US. They are trolling our lures for Trout and Salmon in the lakes over there with great success. Australia is still slow for us, but in saying that we have some really good core customers in Australia now who continually purchase lures from us. We have also developed a really small lure with the standard Scent Blazer concept of putting real bait inside. They are 4.5 inches and the skirts can be cut down to 3.5 inches to make them really small, so they represent a small white bait, small squid or pilchard. We were testing them for about 6 to 12 months and we got Kings, Mack Tuna, Salmon, Tailor, Stripped Tuna and Dolphin Fish. With these lures you put a little bit of bait in the head of the lures. We got rat kings to a bit larger on them every time we trolled them in close off Long Reef. Anyway, it's all good! Good luck to anyone heading out. Peter www.scentblazer.com
  3. true, even big boats roll around if its rough enough agreed SBT fishing sucked this year, only a few YFT caught here and there and just a few BFT off Sydney. This was the first year in 4 yrs we didn't a get a BFT, that cold water didn't come up far enough. What do you do, blame god or global warming Anyway, that's fishing, who knows next year might be really a good season.
  4. that's a big boat it would handle the rough conditions, what type is it? I need to go fishing, I haven't been for around 6-7 weeks
  5. still jealous that's a big day, I might try to get an arvos trolling in this week, maybe Wednesday if I can find some time.
  6. thanks for the report, I'm still jealous, at least you got to go fishing I haven't been out for while now, too much freakin work, i'm over it. This weekend looks good, but I got not no time. Might try to get out there next week. Good luck to anyone heading out.
  7. yeah I know, the bonus for no fish is no clean up
  8. this is from today, this patch looks promising even for BFT, its goes 21.5 to 19, its just little bit too far for me, about 45NM from Sydney and looks about 35NM+ from Botany. If it moves north west about 10-15NM its within range, i might try to find a day next week, but I'll probably get crap weather just checked Monday is ok, the rest of the week is really crap, 3m+ and 30knot winds
  9. hope I am wrong, but I think the BFT have come and gone off Sydney. About 2 weeks ago only 2 or 3 BFT were caught off the Browns and other boats that got them were further south. Water off Sydney is 21.5 + in places which is high for BFT. But YFT and Albacore should still be around, they don't mind the warmer water, plus Dollies and marlin will be on the those temp breaks as well. I'd give it go if I had some time, you're a chance for anything the way the water is right now. Never know, there could be run of YFT still to come.
  10. yeah nice, i'm thinking of getting a pie oven on my boat now . Its perfect especially in winter.
  11. Sounds pretty good to me, I think a YFT for you guys would have been icing on the cake Jemfish, blueeye, calm weather and a pie oven. When you say pie oven, do you mean like a glass fronted oven like in a shop with pies inside ready to eat anytime or you have to cook them? Either way that's pretty awesome.
  12. well done awesome tuna! What was the water temp you got it in?
  13. we got zero on Sunday, we were at southern canyons on Sunday arvo, we found the break that went from 20.5 to about 19.5 that looked promising for BFT and YFT which we worked for around 3hrs. I had a mate who went out today said that break has now moved all the way to Wollongong. It's moving south very quickly. He said he heard over the radio that few Jelly Bean Tuna were caught today mainly off Kiama and there was a marlin caught as well. It was 21.5 around Browns and Southern Canyons and even warmer in places. I hope there is a SBT run off Sydney, but the water seems a bit warm off Sydney ATM. You might have to try to get your boat south to get amongst them. I blame global warming
  14. There was break at the back of Browns that went 20.5 to 19.2 on Friday, that's now moved south to Southern Canyons over the last 2 days and Browns and Bait Station are now 21.5 and 22 respectively, that's more Stripped Marlin temperature. If that colder break keeps moving south then you might have to travel south to get Bluefin. Most of the fish over the weekend were off Wollongong, Port Kembla and mainly small YFT. You will still get YFT and Albacore in the warmer water, but probably not Bluefin. Those few Bluefin caught last week off Sydney might have been the run. Last year was relatively short season for BFT off Sydney. But I hope your right and the run is still to come
  15. Southern Canyons Lat: 34° 12.601´ Lon: 151° 29.449´
  16. good stuff, that's an awesome yellowfin, someone else got a couple of YFT and we asked for their position but they wouldn't say
  17. no probs, hey one guy cleaned up today he got Bluefin and yellowfin, he was southeast of browns, we were almost directly east so if anyone is heading out tomorrow, maybe head southeast of browns
  18. we were out today, there is a hard break almost directly east of the browns goes from 20.7 on one side rapidly down to 19.2 in places. Kelp, Cuttle fish bones all washed up along the edge, we mainly fished the cold side. lots of tuna birds in spots. We trolled along it for a bit over 4hrs and only got one hook-up on a small fish, I suspect a stripped tuna or a albacore. we heard that there were a few yellowfin hooked and that there was a multiple hookup on Bluefin east of Browns, they wouldn't say where they hooked the Yellowfin. I would guess we saw around 15 to 20 boats along the break we were on and there were boats south as well near the canyons So a few fish were caught here and there, hopefully better numbers over the weekend, good luck to anyone heading out
  19. awesome fish! We were originally gonna head south towards the Canyons, but the water looked good about 5NM east of Browns so we decided to stay around there. Conditions were good. I heard today there was another YFT caught near the Canyons that went about 50kg as well.
  20. quite a few zeros off Sydney as well, maybe next time, you would think there will better numbers coming up the coast in the next week or so
  21. we trolled today from about 11, started a couple miles inside Browns to about 8 miles east of Browns, good temp breaks, lots of tuna birds. All we got were 2 Stripies and dropped another 2 fish which I suspect were Stripies as well lots of boats out, we heard a couple of YFT were caught around 20kg, a couple of Albacore, someone said a Bluefin was caught as well 125kg how did everyone else go?
