Great report mate (think i've seen you off quarantine) !! I'm still yet to find some decent and consistent squid spots. I have a few on Brisbane waters - but none in Sydney harbour (hint hint anyone ...) In regards to dropping livies around lots of bait - I cut a few of the tail fins off to make the yakka swim different to the school. They make more vibrations and are more noticeable - so maybe give that a whirl. I've also been told there's some fluro stuff you can get that you paint or dip the yakka's tail in that makes them stand out - i'll try and get the name of it.

Hey all, Took the boat out to run in a new motor - and thought a good chance to try and sound out some new Yakka & Squid spots around the harbour. Usually I hit up Quarantine Station to grab them but they were VERY scarce last weekend. They weren't there again, so tried a few harbor side spots along Manly Reef beach - again nothing, out to Centurion - nothing. By this time I'd done a few hours on the motor so headed out to try and grab a flatty or two for dinner - only managed a few small ones on the 50 off macquarie light and it was pretty hard going so headed back in. At least the motor is run in now ! Anyone else having issues finding yakkas at the moment ?

Hi Guys , I'm heading up to Kingscliff for my yearly holiday in Jan - except this time have the new boat with me. I usually go land based or out on charters, but problem is I don't have any marks/spots offshore. I've been able to grab marks for Fido's reef and 9 mile, and wondering if anyone has some good areas to have a fish at ? I have gear to target anything from Whiting (have got a few out back of golf course on the river) up to Marlin, so if anyone can help out with some offshore info - that'd be awesome thanks Ohhh and any advice on spots for yakkas or slimies up there.
