  1. Mate the water temp was 17.5 at Bellambi and about 19 at the Hump
  2. Hi All, Decided to head out Bellambi today for a fish even though there was a bit of wind. Headed out behind the bommy in about 30 metres of water. Over the course of the next hour I saw big schools of fish coming through on the sounder, and managed to pick up a few small trevally which I guess were chasing them. Decided to go to the "hump" as recommended by other fish raiders. Was a fair run with the wind chop in a 4.2 runabout with a 25hp Drove around the Hump sounding it out and just having a look. A couple of spots towards the south east part of the hump sounded up really good with big fishing holding in the bottom 5 metres or so, maybe snapper? also a few spots looked like a lot of small fishing hanging over a pinnacle? or maybe it was weed or something? not sure.. Anyways had a drifted for about an hour with me flicking plastics and my father using bait. NOT A TOUCH. like nothing. Sammy the seal and his family were playing around the boat surfing on waves and jumping most of the time we were there, I don't know if that would have had any affect on the fishing but it was Decided to head back towards bellambi and have a drift for some flathead off some of the beaches. PIcked up plenty of sergeant bakers and some gernards but no flatheads. SPEWING! The wind died down int he afternoon and it was actually not a bad day on the water all in all. Cheers, Adammac
  3. Hey guys, Launched late today at about 9am from Port Kembla to have a bit of a look around the islands for the first time. After trolling the southern breakwall a few times I headed out the back of the far island to look for a spot to fish some bait and plastics. I could not seem to find any real bottom structure or fish on the sounder so I just did a few drifts, hoping I would stumble across something. After about 2 hours with nothing I decided to call it a day and head back in as I have to work tonight. I have heard of snapper and kings being taken around there, but I guess its just getting to know where they are holding which takes experience. Looking at heading out again Friday as the weather looks great and not sure where to go. I have heard that the hump off stanwell is the go so if the weather is good i might give that a try. If anyone has some pointers for fishing the wollongong area I am all ears and hopefully friday I will have a better report to share! Cheers, Adammac
  4. Yeah I realise this was not the ideal forum to post this but I could not find anywhere that I thought was better suited. And the idea is that I will turn this into a report tomorrow after I have bagged out on Stonking Reds. Regards, Adammac
  5. 110 views cmon guys I am not after your secret spot, just a general bit of advice would really be appreciated. Is there snapper around the five islands? or is wollongong reef better? bellambi? do I need to head to stanwell to be in with a chance? If it helps i`ll be berleying with pilchard cubes, and fishing unweighted cubes on circle hooks. I`ll also be throwing around a few soft plastics. Please, Regards, Adammac
  6. There is nothing worse than losing a fish and not getting to see what it was! Hope you have better luck off bellambi mate
  7. Goodmorning Fishraiders, Long time lurker first time poster. I just moved back up to wollongong way after living in melbourne for a couple of years. It looks like there is finally a break in the weather coming and I was looking to get out after some snapper over the next few days. I was wondering if anyone could share some local knowledge. My options would be to launch out of Port Kembla, Wollongong or Bellambi. I am not trying to take anyones secret spots, but recomendations of where to head, depths, (gps marks would be amazing too)would give me an awesome place to start. Thanks in advance, Adammac
