  1. Has anyone been to the previous tinnie and tackle expos ? Was thinking if it's worth going to.
  2. Im hoping to catch a jew ! but still be alot of fun catching a flattie ! Was thinking the woolies side but saw some construction goin on there and probably wont be able to get through at night. might try the other side
  3. hey all Was thinking of going to narrabeen lake to try some live mullet. Any good experiences with anyone ?!
  4. I plan on getting the Suzuki sx4. Most boats I've looked at stay in the range of towing for the car.
  5. Thanks Alan very helpful ! I'm going to give spit and Narrabeen lake woolies bridge a go this weekend
  6. Hi guys I just started lure fishing this year. I started around the end of summer and stopped just when the weather got cold. I have a 1-3kg samaki rod and a symetre 2500 with 6lb braid and 8lb mono leader. The only thing Ive been using is paddle tails and I caught a few flatheads on them. Im still having a hard time finding out what lures catch what fish and how to use them. I just started using poppers this month to try and catch whiting but only learned that i have to wait till the water gets warmer. 1. Do lures work at night ? If so, do i have to use a bright colour and dark colours during the day ? 2. There was a time when it was really windy so I used a heavier jig head and lure on my rod. Is this wrong ? I could feel that it was really heavy. 3. Is there a chart for what lures catch which fish ? 4. Is my rod and reel combo just mad for bream ? My favourite fish is a mulloway and hope to catch one with a lure. Should I go a heavier setup ? 5. Do more expensive lures work the same as cheaper lures ? Is it all about how you retrieve the lure ? The way I usually use lures is i do 2 quick jerks and let the lure sink and rest abit and then do the same thing again. All i was catching was flathead. There a fun fish to catch but also want to catch some bream and other species.
  7. thanks for the tips guys. will be waiting till water gets warmer but a bit imaptient !
  8. thanks for the help guys. im looking at spending $7000 max. ive just been looking around on boat sales and trying to get an idea on what i want.
  9. hi all Was wondering what retrieves you do with your popper and for what fish ? I just started using poppers and trying to go for bream or whiting but had no luck
  10. thanks for that... never thought about it that way
  11. thanks for the help ! I was thinking a suzuki sx4 and boat stays within towing capacity weight. thanks for the help
  12. Also I've had my eye on sea craft boats. Is there a reason why there cheap ?
  13. Hi all I've recently decided on buying boat. Im after a tinny around 4m. Ive been trying to get information from the net but having a hard time finding info. What kind of car do I need to tow my tinny if I was to buy one. Is there some sort of chart with towing ? 1.6L can pull your average tinny? Ive read that most people use any car with Tinnys and have no problems but if your car isn't made for towing, in the Long run its going to cost alot for repairs on the car ? I also have a budget and can't afford a big strong ute. Also how hard is it to maintain boats ? Do you need to service them every time it hits a certain hour ? Are they easy to service on your own ? I'm just after a tinny that can take me around Narrabeen lake, the spit, Roseville and manly area. Is there any reccomandations on a boat that would be safe around those waters ? I usually fish with about 4 people and in total we weigh about 320 kg. I've seen alot of different styles of boats and not sure which to get. And what is insurance like on a boat? Any help will be greatly appreciated !
