  1. I'm more concerned for all those people who admit to watching today tonight Worst tv program hands down,
  2. A few years back when I was a tuna boat deck boss, we had a mako pup In one of our livebait tanks eating all the crap off the bottom of the tank, my deckies decided to release him into the ocean again as we were steaming out the heads at Tuncurry just as we were passing the local "rock pool" swiming area.... Wonder what happened to that pup? Lol
  3. i do a bit of muddie crabbing back home on wallis lake each year, i usually have one trap out and just check it and re-bait each day, this yr im going to try and use the 5 dilly pots your allowed, now that i have a boat now and can cover more ground with the 5 dillies if im on the watch re-checking them more often, witches hats do get destroyed by muddies, but i have the two ring collapsible dillies with the heavy mesh, just gota pull em up quick and straight, on bait, cant go past whole fresh mullet, but failing that, a can of cat food slightly ring pulled works well too, oil slowly seeps out, muddies dont have very good eye sight, but great smell... i love crabbing and reakon i get more excited pulling my trap than flicking lures waiting haha, happy hunting,
  4. sorry to hijack thread, but would these be the right plugs for an merc 2002 25hp 2stroke? mine are due for a change i think. cheers.
  5. haha yes well, dont mind me, i may just be a little soured after years of them spewing all over my deck all night and spending all my spare time making sure they didnt fall overboard....
  6. i think i have to sit on the other side of the bar with this "issue". the SESS fishery is a quota regulated fishery, the fisheries have what we call "effort" and will be fished regardless if its a 140 odd metre vessel or half a dozen 23 metre vessels. the vessel will have AFMA observers on deck round the clock exactly the same as the ETBF during the SBT seasons, its regulated to net size and spread, the "viable" quota and effort to the fishery has been set by the "scientists" and those apparently in the know, and believe me it will be counted to the dammed kilo. And now, because it's big, the government should ban it? The size of the boat doesn't matter in a quota system. It's the size of the catch..... ask yourself this, would you be up in arms if six 23 metre trawlers steamed over here to fish the industry? it happens more often than i think the country realises.... feel free to criticise just my 2cents guys.....
  7. first post for me woo, do you have to live in the south coast? i suggest the central coast (terrigal, bateau bay) or mid-north coast, (forster, old bar) lived in forster as a pro fisho and worked from ulladulla when the tuna were running down south, i would live in forster over south coast in a heartbeat, much warmer too... my 2 cents.
