  1. I have had a look, but can't find any with the undercover back to back seats that shows what year model. I reckon it looks like mid 60's? I love the windows that slide back on the sides like a bus driver! Ha!
  2. Thanks, but that was only what the seller told me and he wasn't sure.. The outboard is 1983 (from the serial number), but the boat styling seems a bit older?? I was hoping someone here might have seen/owned one like it, as I can't find the same model online at all - only half cabs.
  3. Hi I just bought this boat and wondered if anyone knows the year of this model? It is a Savage 16' boat, and has Escort badging It is not a true half cab, rather the seats are under cover, with an opening to the front deck. It is in pretty good condition as it has only been run on freshwater lakes. There is a bit of rot in the floor, but I am planning on cutting that out and replacing with marine ply/carpet/swivel seats. It came with a 140hp Evinrude from apparently the same year (also with an 8hp Merc) I have looked everywhere and cannot seem to find the same model anywhere! Thanks very much
  4. good session for MH, but it is all about the terminal tackle! I bet you will be tying all your knots at home next time!
  5. Hey Zenman Nice to see some action following your baits - even if it did result in no landed kings (what was the bait? - that may have been the problem). It can be really frustrating when that happens. A tip that Duke gave me was to catch a smaller reddie (or the like) and keep it in the water just under the boat for a minute or two - this will get the kings in the mood to take your bait when presented. Also nice to see that you got dinner upstream. All in all not a bad day on the water (wind excepted!)
  6. Crikey Kelvin- you are really letting everyone know all of your secrets aren't you! You are a very generous man - including photos of where you catch your fish - I am sure it will be over-run on the weekend, but as you say in one of your previous posts - you are fortunate enough to have a few days off during the week so good luck to you!
  7. That was typical of the commercial fishermen - i once saw them net completely across middle cove. From the amount of early season activity in Middle Harbour that has been appearing on all of the fishing sites - this year looks like it is going to explode in the Kingy stakes... Lots of big kings already being landed by downrigging around the deeper water moorings - a good sign of whats to come.
