  1. Well done mate, they are a scurge on the waterways out west but, as you say fun on the light gear. I fish LK regularly. The Cod are on the fang at the moment. Pitty you couldn't get onto a few natives.
  2. Mate, 1987 was a long time ago! I know I was well and truly there, it was a great time of my life. Caught a lot of fish too. Perhaps it might be time for an upgrade. You'd be amazed how well even a modern 40hp 4stroke would push a 4.3 boat and a lot less stress. A good 2nd hand modern o/board 50 would go well too! Just a thought but, if you want reliability age will weary them. Brian.
  3. Mate, Awesome effort. Where is Hill 60, thought it got blown up in France years ago! Well done on doing an emu bob for rubbish that's not yours. Gives me the when you get to your fav spots and see what others could easily have taken home. That's why we often end up getting locked out of good spots. BP.
  4. Great weekend mate, Were they the jellybeen yakkas I told you we got around Lion Island last week? They are crackers hey! Brian.
  5. As Harry said, best way to get it down is a big hunk of lead and get it off the surface.
  6. Is that your new boat in your profile pic? Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice. Great way to christen it. You might get some nice yakkas on the inshore side of lion island. Got some big ones there last week but, some real nice 4inch models in a bit closer. I could almost taste that picture of your dinner
  7. Well done land based. Don't worry your good example will get rewards. Next one 80+, bet-ya!
  8. It's up stream from Bar Point. The second last jetty before you swing towards Pumkin Point. There's a big old house up the back on stone piers. I don't know who owns it but you can stay there for $20pp pn. Rough but comfortable enough.
  9. Nice Mate, Great to see how predator fish work the schools too. Give us a chance to learn how they work for a feed. Brian.
  10. I'm sure you blokes must be mates!!!!!!!!!!!!! Some good little tips in there. Thanks.
  11. Yep, that's how I read it. I did a thread last week and someone put a link to it, like a fishing almanac for tides and times moon etc. http://www.tides4fishing.com/au/new-south-wales/sydney All indications were it was going to be a hot bite time + the barometer was up. Sometimes the worst weather makes for the best fishing.
  12. Col were using braid when you were getting reefed?
  13. Unfortunately Scratchie, when your 500ks from the salty stuff you have to get you fill in big doses. I've just done 10 straight days on the water if I take in last week too. That's with out the hugs and kisses or tackers, so I'm pretty blessed to get a solid go at it a couple of times a year.
  14. Cheers Guys. Yakkas were in close at Lion Island. Neil you bring the bottle of red wine and your in next year LOL
