  1. Why don't we start a Fishraider MMSI group ... Post our MMSI numbers on the forum and then we program our radios with the members MMSI's and then when we are out and about we hail the group and see who replies in that general area ..... Could be good for socialising and / or fish spotting on the water and who to avoid Could be fun ....... Garry
  2. All, Now that I have got one of these EPIRB's (GME MT403G) was wondering how some Fishraiders went about locating and mounting them. What I am looking at is that there will be a lot of occasions that the boat will be left unattended, i.e. Caravan parks, front of houses etc and not in a secure state. I figure I can bolt the EPIRB mount in the boat and remove the EPIRB from its mount everytime I wish to secure it away from the unsavoury types, but I get the feeling that the plastic mount won't last being flexed to often. Somebody suggested just to leave it in its box and cart it in and out of the boat as needed ...... Any other idea's would be greatly appreciated .... Garry
  3. Glen, Could you send me the details too.....as I also live in western Sydney Garry
  4. I was kinda hoping somebody has come up with a solution for mounting the winch on a Crusher that works, either utilising the existing mount plate on the rear wall or ??????? I don't want to reinvent the wheel if I don't have too. Regards, Garry
  5. Do you think one of these would work usefully on a Bar Crusher 530C . ??? The 530C already has a mounting plate for the Stressfree type winch. (Vertical plate on back wall of well) would it be feasible to use it in some way ????? I look at the Stressfree winch prices and flinch big time (Big $$$$ ), this looks like it could be a viable alternative. Any ideas / suggestions / warnings / praise would be gratefully accepted. Regards, Garry
  6. I'm a happy chappy...... I passed too ..... Would like to give a huge thanks to Donna and Stewy for their effort in getting this organised, Bob and Harrys expert knowledge, tuition, humour and Donna's practice questions just seemed to gel it all together. Now off to get the MMSI to make the DSC thingy work ... Thanks all, Garry
