  1. I think you're thinking of Afloat magazine . Great magazine and there is often requests asking for boat history such as this. Also available on line.
  2. Just wondering - if you happen to have a fishing rod in the boat but haven't actually been fishing do you have to have a license or do they have to catch you in the act before asking to see one?
  3. I found this article in the London Daily Mail, thought I'd share it with you: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2004113/White-bread-unhealthy-anglers-banned-using-bait-makes-fish-unwell.html Cheers
  4. Was it you at Apple Tree Bay last Sunday around 3PM
  5. I also think that it's a good idea to insure your boat with the same insurer as your car. If there is a problem, your boat insurer may say that you have to make a claim against your car policy (say for instance that your brakes failed - car's fault therefor car insurer pays!). Might get a bit ugly - less hassle if same company for both.

Do they use much battery power??
  7. Hope this link works, it's from the Daily Mail in London: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-1295303/Dead-hundreds-factory-floor-sharks-slaughtered-Japan-use-fins-soup.html Cheers, Martin
  8. I have just attended a BBQ cooking course at the Sydney Fish markets (birthday present from the wife & kids), and picked up a useful tip. When cooking fish in aluminium foil on the BBQ (also apparently the foil should be shiny side up so the heat is not reflected), place a sheet of baking paper on top of the foil before adding the fish & wrapping it up. This stops the fish sticking to the foil and helps retain the juices. Thought I'd share this with you all. Cheers,
  9. I was talking to a friend today who said that he heard that 2KY have dropped Hi Tide as of last weekend. Can anyone confirm this?
  10. Is that an ashtray on both armrests?
  11. Unfortunately I missed out on the last couple of Fishraider courses but really need to get my VHF license. I came across this online course from a boating magazine (Qld based), so I am wondering if the course & certificate is only valid for Queensland. http://www.vhfradioonline.com/ Is the MROVCP valid throughout Australia?. If so, at a course cost of $29 & exam fees of around $50, this seems quite reasonable. The added bonus is that study can be spread over a few weeks or even months if there are severe time constraints to study. Has anyone done this online course?, if so, were you happy with it? Thanks in advance.
  12. I went today & was quite impressed with the range of boats on display (my son also managed to pass his junior boat license test which was an added bonus). One brand which really caught my eye was Ranger Tugs. They had two on display and they were like luxury caravans for the water instead of the road. I could quite happily spend serious quality time on the larger one which at just over $300,000 seemed very good value.
  13. We stayed there a couple of years ago for two days, we had booked into the Naviti just up the road but the room we had booked into hadn't been built!
  14. Stupid question but why are they so quiet compared to a 2 stroke? Do they have more/better silencers?
