  1. Just a follow up. Before I took to the corrosion myself, I contacted shimano as per a few members suggestions. The reel was purchased in 2013 so still within 10yr warranty: but no chance of any proof of purchase. Credit where credits due, shimano service/tech support were very helpful and explained what I needed to do fill out a warranty form and send it in. I was worried about timing prior to Easter that it would take ages. not long after it was sent I received notice the parcel was at the post office and I called shimano to see why it had been bounced back (expecting that I was being told not under warranty) - turns out they just replaced the part and sent it back ASAP no questions. I was genuinely surprised how hassle free this interaction was. It pays to buy good gear, from whatever company is willing to back them with agood warranty *I should note they look at the overall condition when assessing these things. If I gave them an absolute neglected mess I am sure it would have been a different story.
  2. Thanks, that is what I was thinking. Clean it up and coat with something. I was wondering what coating people would use?
  3. Hi Team, I was replacing my line on my Saragosa 10000 and discovered some pitted white corrosion that occurred under the spool. does anyone have a solution. To manage this corrosion and pitting. As it is a bit rough and don’t want to damage any new line. I thought sand and maybe a bit of wax? I don’t want to replace the line until I work out what to do with the pitting. And it’s a good reel so would be a shame to send it to retirement!
  4. Hi raiders, I am down in Eden for a week for work. Despite being freezing at night, it is pretty awesome down here. Does anyone have any tips for land based spots. I generally have the evenings to fish and have a light 7ft bream rod and 20lb, 12ft rod beach/ rock setup with me. Cheers, Dan Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I have a 4000 sol II, great reel for the price above that you are paying lots more for not too many improvements in my opinion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I've been out to the manly hydraulics facility and have seen the wave Ryder bouys out for maintenance. Pretty amazing to see the amount of growth on them not to mention the amount of fishing line too!! As for why they take them out, I don't know. General maintenance sure but the whole assembly seems funny. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I though the record for carp out of centennial park in 2008 was a good one!! They are the only things getting bigger!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. That must be a record for smallest fish on lure! Nice fish from the Georges, looks like you have it honed in. Donuts are all part of fishing! You have those days to constantly keep you thinking! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Nice work mate. Did you make the fly yourself? I occasionally see a few luderick around Sydney harbour and have thought it would be fun to make a few flys to keep in the tackle box ( I would still just fish with a spinning rod though ) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Lots of yakkas at balmoral. Get in close to the island and burley up. You can't miss it as there are often a few boats there catching bait.Sabiki's are good but if you are like me after the first yakka you spend the next half hour untangling the thing. I stick to a hand line with a single small hook and a bit of pillie. While you are there throw a squid jig around too. I'm with devil ray about fishing with them. Have fun! 11. What a great fish! Congrats mate. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Nice fish!!! I'd be happy with something half that size! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I think we should all submit our concern to the EPA. From viewing the smh feature which has photos of the oil, caltex and EPA have said it is a light sheen. Those photos show a thick product and it seems apparent the EPA are not taking this seriously enough. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Any further info on this? I haven't seen anything Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
