  1. Yeah same here I anticipate the catch of a 15 kg LBG soon I reckon I'll go the 29/06/2015, I'll drop a few lines when it's done Ok I was only joking it's actually a funny "report" that demonstrates how pump you are, loving it! For starters, you are trying to break the drought at the worst possible time of the year, not quite, July and August will be worst Yep, winter sucks when you're fishing near the shore. It doesn't mean there are no fish, but plenty plenty less. Segundo: frozen squid >>>>> NO NO NO Once again, that doesn't mean you won't catch one but your chances are 90% inferior using a frozen, especially if you fishing near shore. Better of keeping 5 days in the fridge than freezing. After 5 days, it really starts to be shit but from 1 to 4 days, top. Hope that helps for next time, kingfish offshore, any clown can do, they would eat a sinker with a hook, kingfish near shore requires a lot more skills, kingfish from shore is THE challenge. Good luck for next time, I'd wait to score the fish before writing report, there are a lot more fails than wins at that game
  2. Awesome fish, healthy as, silvery as, top! Massive brag tho don't let your pride make you look bad, drop a couple of lines, we all know you're so stoked that you'll think about that one for weeks so talk us through it with genuine emotions, the "love catching perch" really, really, really makes you look like a Kanye West of the Perch!
  3. Looks like Hiramasa, small head small mouth, weird. Seems like it was good fun! well done.
  4. These fish are stunning! So healthy looking. First one on lure too that's bloody awesome, well done mate!
  5. Well done boys! These fish have got unreal colours on them, they all fat and healthy, that would have been a heap of fun!
  6. Of course they haven't "dispatched" them they young, mate!! There is no point killing a fish species already super established, waste of time, effort, inefficient, and ultimately it makes you feel like a cruel retarded piece of oooo! I've been in that game long enough to see how it rolls, if you take a second to read the following words it could make sense >First a species gets introduced, for a few years, you hear about reports of few "new" fishes being caught here and there, people don't really care. >Fairly quickly, the species populations explode, reasons for that is that they are new species with no real equivalent locally, therefore their usual favourite food is abundant, they keep exploding and eventually start to impact on native / endemic species (true fact they do). >People freak out, we need to kill, let's oooooo kill em all, unleash a bit of the barbarian caveman anchored inside each of us. >Let's get the scientists involved, they'll kill it all, too bad the chemicals they use are as noxious for endemic than targets ... While introducing viruses to feral species, it is fair to question the possibility for the "virus" to travel back to countries where that species is native, quite questionable ethically? >Things don't work, killing doesn't work, leaving dead fish on the bank might ultimately stimulate the feral populations of foxes, rats and so on, funny huh? It will also disturb other endemic species, like birds or any native scavenger. Is a magpie made to feed on mountains of dead carp ? doubt so. >oooo, these fishes will destroy all our beautiful native fishes, scientist give them 5 years! >5 years are going, nothing destroyed, some populations at stress, on the decline, but still, nothing destroyed. >10 years, same oooo, people start to not give a oooo >15 years, populations of invasive aggressive introduced species are funnily settling down, so do natives. >20 years, invasive populations are decreasing, again and again and again and come to a steady number, "sustainable, they proliferated way beyond what their new environment could produce, some mega viruses have cleared the weakest, they're number get steady. The other native species are more resilient than what everyone expected, they have been shaken, but took their "rights" back, and are now steady too. I'm obviously from Europe, and I've seen the same bullshit going on and on and on for years, decades, it is documented. You want to go further, I come from a country of fish killers, heritage from wars, people need to kill in order to survive, eat, a good old picture of 20 x 5+ kg pikes leaning dead on the turf was impressive, 20 years ago it still was. For the reasons listed above, pictures of zander (invasive) massacres, carps (invasive) massacres, chinese catfish (invasive) genocides, Largemouth bass > introduced to kill catfish lol lol lol massacres, Giant catfishes hung to trees with slit throat (yeah we had to kill them they could potentially eat dogs and babies, swimmer babies, which are rare but can exist) ..... .... .....>>>>> MASSIVE L O L Yeah all that crap I've seen, with fish stocks consistently going down ... oooo scientists could be a little bit right at least?? Well for all these reasons, a generation of no kill fishermen has emerged, and quickly took over the rest, I don't know a single kid aged under 18 that kills fish in my country. Fishermen numbers are stronger than they have ever been (true stats not speculations). Result > fish stocks (talking freshwater) have been better than ever, as far as the records are going, in what? 5 years ? It is amazing how quickly things are changing when people are changing. Pikes, heaps, Atlantic salmons, more than 50 years ago, redfins? still showing strong, trouts (native back home) better than ever, all the small ones, better population than ever too, reason? NO KILL + better management of water quality (polluter payer, policies, laws, fines). Invasive species? L O L all our friends now .... Coincidentally, the 2 "pretended" biggest enemies of native fish species (carp and giant catfish) are the icons of NO-KILL and have saved the industry of recreational fishing, with a consistent increasing number of addicts, spending zillions $$ each year to get equipped, travel to catch these fish, guide people to catch these fishes, etc etc etc Funny huh? Should I go further and mention that Koi Carps are authorized in the lucky country we live in? Koi Carp is primarily Cyprinus Carpio if I'm correct (I know I am because I studied aquaculture) Where do they end? In ponds What happens when a koi carp reproduces with a carp? uhuhuh... What happens when the eggs of a koi carp are taken into feathers of an aquatic bird and that bird flies off to the next pond, or river? uhuhuhuh ...You get the sense of what I'm saying, massive hypocrisy here guys. Massive hypocrisy. So of course these young fellas haven't "dispatched" the carps, because they use their feel, and their instinct, rather than listen to the absolute loads of crap talked by "science", and people always fearing what's new in general. That said young fellas I should say that's baaaaad to not kill the carps, don't forget to slaughter them with a cricket bat or anything you've got in hand, that's what they deserve for giving you good fun and surviving in over polluted ponds of Sydney suburbs!!!! Well done on the catches too, these fishes look incredibly healthy, l mean a mint fish like that with perfect jacket would make a lot of carp junkies jealous!!! If scientist (unfortunately) fail to eradicate carps, which I strongly fear you could be lucky enough to catch them like than in a "few" years, they fun when they 15 + (up to almost 40 kg)
  7. Nice team effort, well done on that one, on the release too!
  8. Uhuh ... Your misses has got nice looking legs! Oh wait did you take that picture?
  9. Well done mate, that is 1 old mama for sure! Interesting to see the stomach content too. Hope you guys had a good time around the table eating that one
  10. You'd better not forget them on the barbie!!!!!!
  11. Still a Bluefin, Northern Bluefin but Bluefin! Mate I'm drooling when I see this, unreal catch off Sydney stones, too much background image tho, there goes your spot! Even if that one was already fairly gone ... hahaha It will not help lessen the crowds
  12. You've got to be a serious dawg to fish in Cloey "pool", don't you?. Don't think Gordo and Cloey bay should be treated the same way though, completely different configuration Fishes are not that silly neither, there isn't a bigger density in Gordo than any other places around and it is heaps calmer which makes it quite hard to fish. Gordo and Long Bay are arguably the 2 places where I encounter the biggest number of clueless fishos not being able to catch a fish, in a place that apparently looks nice but as a postcard, not a fishing spot. Besides I'm a keen snorkeler and I must say that I've seen gropers for years in Cloey pool, which tends to make me think they aren't too harassed, they are distinctive, have the same scars, were there when I was snorkelling 4 years ago, and are still there. Coincidentally, I observed the same thing in spots heavily fished, and heavily groper fished. Who knows what it really means. PPL please don't fish in Clovelly pool, you are really giving us the bad name if you do so, and make yourself look like some massive greedy muppet!
  13. Get the carps back home, mash it all up, no one will ever ask you whether it's carp or dog food, being a FW species it is highly unlikely to have negative impact on SW (fungi, viruses and so on even though it could still happen but that is not specific to carp). If you're not sure and you feel scared, just give fisheries a ring and ask, drop them an email, or a FB message, otherwise you'll only have crap advices like mine that could get you behind the bars :P
  14. Chuck em on barbie, don't remove scales nor guts, eat all, just rock salt, my all time favourite! If there was one fish left on Earth to eat that would be the one for me
