Dobroyd was deceivingly dangerous. Thought it would be more protected from southerlies as it's inside the harbor, but it's no less dangerous than being on the rocks which faces directly into the ocean. The ledges which face directly east are very low and there aren't any higher ledges behind you to get away from any freakish waves. The far north eastern corner is slightly better protected. The rocks facing directly north closer to the forty baskets are fully protected, but the waters looked too calm to produce anything decent. I was there with toboggi on a saturday arriving at first light, but as he mentioned, there were 7-8 other anglers there within the next 30 minutes. We spent more time observing the waves and trying to find a spot to cast out. There was a very annoying old man standing far right on a 10 ledge and casting across the whole damn ledge so we couldn't cast out.

The breams were caught on peeled hawksbury prawns. Wasn't easy trying to bypass all the rock cods that were trying to take the bait before the desired depth.
