mate this time of the year the salmon can be found all along the south coast beaches, i personally fish out of burrill lake so i know the area quite well, id be using pilchards on any size ganghooks with a 15lb leader on 10-12lb line using a 12ft beach rod. as for the tinny fishing i dont fish personally inlets or lakes in winter as it all gets a bit quite, but often you can find flathead in the shallows on sunny days as they seem to bask up there, lake conjola is good for decent size bream, i use SP around structure. hope this helps but if you need any more info im happy to help some more, as i said i fish burrill lake more but have fished all these areas .

hey guys, as some of you may have seen in my earlier posts i am a bit of a newbie to these parts, and wasnt sure whether to put this in adopt a learner or here but i figured that since i wanna learn with the help of someone with a boat (as a uni student tought to own my own.) was wondering if there is anyone willing to teach me, looking to target bream/flathead or any other species that these two come as bycatch to, mainly in sydney harbour and the hawkesbury river as these are my nearest fishing holes. im 18 and willing to chip in with whatever we need, just need to know a week or so in advance to organise etc which im sure you guys would be willing to do. basically looking for someone to tutor me/provide the boat, and therefore would probably need to be someone with a little patience and experience in these systems ! cheers everyone, Grant.

hey mate, sorry for slow reply, uni exams so there has been some quick catchup study after the long weekend ! i wasnt there sunday ended up there friday day and night, for only 2 flathead, 38 and 44cm respectively, got a nice 39cm bream pushing 1kg on sunday in berowra waters in a small bay a couple hundred metres from the mouth. all in all a slow weekend but im a real rookie on the hawkesbury !

hey fisho's, new on the site, this is my first ever post ! just wanted to ask a quick question, what spots in the Hawkesbury are reasonably consistent for flathead and bream? ive already stocked up on bait to keep my mates who aren't as interested in fishing busy catching whatever ends up on the hook (Hopefully a couple of nice eating bream), but lately im hooked on soft plastics, specifically anything from 3' minnows to 5' jerk shads, and targeting flathead on light gear. still perfecting my technique on the soft plastics but am starting to have some success with a double flick/lift that seems to be popular in fishing vids. my PB is a rather small 52cm and I just thought that some of you boys would know the Hawkesbury better then I, as I usually fish the South Coast's estuaries. Any comments with help/ideas would be wonderful
