  1. No it is still open to the public the old way from the car park.. it is now also accessible via the Valley Way rd, ,follow the track through the bush til you reach the small bridge to the baths cheers ted.
  2. Thanks Scratchie for your reply i have also heard comments from another source that there was a problem with moisture getting into the unite causing corrosion as well as fading of the display. I think i will have to do a bit more research before buying a fishfinder.and check out other types. thanks again cheers TEDi
  3. Great out of the box thinking Roberta. How long does the battery last after a full charge with continual operation of fishfinder.and what type of finder have you got.??.
  4. Hi Nursie welcome to kayak fishing, before you load yourself up with fishing gear, etc get yourself a good life jacket, PFD, and Secure the paddle with a paddle lease then just paddle around till you feel comfortable and stable in your new kayak. when In safe water and near the shore, tip out and try getting back onto your kayak when its upside down , turning it right side up and climbing back on you need to know this procedure before venturing to far out. Hobie Kayaks have small outriggers that fit on their Hobie kayaks i don't know how they would work on yours. best of luck ted
  5. I have been checking out Fishfinders for my Hobe Outback kayak, and the BCF salesman recommended the Lowrance Elite-4X DSI fishfinder. Is anyone using this particular unite and if so are you satisfied with its performance. The other one he recommended was the Garmin 350c. I would appreciate any comments on what is best or of any faults with either of these Fishfinders. or any recommendations on any other type that you would buy. thanks ted
  6. I checked out those prawns from ALDI they come from Malaysia. They also have printed on the packet for human consumption only-- not to be used as bait or feed for aquatic animals so we must protect our fish and not use them for bait.
  7. I think they should call you Saint Fabian, job well done, i can only imagine how desperate the old couple felt. if i ever go on long trip i hope people like you are around if i need help. cheers ted
  8. For that price you carn't go wrong and they are a decent size prawn.
  9. terrific fish you were lucky he didn,t bust you off.
  10. The Gummy shark is regarded as the best eating of all the sharks, its flesh is firm and moist. It has very little ammonia smell like other sharks . Gummies should be bled and gutterad as soon as possible after capture. so its very good for the table
