FG. Best. Knot. Ever! As for the OP, for light braid to leader, as Luke says, uni to uni. Quick, easy and still strong. I tried the FG on light lines and found it hard to keep the turns tight. An alternative to the uni-uni, I sometimes do a full Albright.

Travacalm never worked for me but kwells has been awesome the last 3 trips offshore. Didn't care that I didn't catch any fish, but maybe it was because I didn't burly?

I was out near flint and steel on Wednesday and saw three trawlers working the area. Didn't see any pulling up anything in their nets which may explain why they don't look like they've been updated recently.

This post sounds like the right place to do it...yes I too confess that have a lure addiction and I've been hiding this from my for many years now.

Fondest memory would have to be catching my first hairtail off Palm Beach headland when I was 12 or 13. Was the hardest fish ever fought, couldn't even turn the handle (but then I was only a kid). Brought it up and it was taller than my dad, silvery with flashes of iridescence, continual waves along its dorsal fin and HUGE sharp fangs! Freakish fish to see. Best part was having it for sashimi! Yum! Still can remember the texture and taste. Sadly, this was over 20 years ago and rarely see hairtail that size anymore .
