  1. Actually no need to ask - if your Kia can handle so much loose change (just 1motor/$100k ~ 1 tonne of coins ) then just strap the rest of the rig to the car roof 🤣
  2. There is no lack of latest fishing reports (with photos, even sometimes current biting area) on current social media. I have seen even Fishraiders reports posted faster on FB than on a forum. What those short reports are missing is a good report story and regularly quality of comments.
  3. I dont see any problem at all if fishing spots are not added for public, probably the opposite LOL. There are plenty GPS marks around - just do a bit of homework. What I would appreciate is App ability to add(manually or upload file) own GPS marks in several formats - rather than currently dropping a pin. Also , a basic depth and/or some bottom structure map would be a nice feature.
  4. What a great session and awesome catch!
  5. Unlike cars - the boat motor technology has stuck in the past with poor efficiency due to lack of real competition on the market for decades and targeting mostly high income customer segment. I hope the electric battery technology gets soon to the price, weight, efficiency level enough so electric motors can be used widely in recreational fishing boats - no more noise, no smell, easier service, and free or cheap charge at home i.e. more fishing.
  6. Good suggestions! LOL I am struggling to do anything with with cling wrap - so I just use sealable glass containers for fish and meats storage - they are cheap as chips and decent quality now at Kmart.
  7. I think many of us had similar expensive lessons (myself included ) - the question is if we learnt anything valuable from them, or the money was fully wasted.
  8. My whole childhood was chasing freshwater european fish in lakes and rivers with fishing poles - made out of fresh cut wood sticks or dry bamboo. The problem was when you hook something heavier - you cant tire bigger fish as you have only short line of aproximately length of rod - so fight may end up pretty quickly, sometimes rather emotionally. To reduce chance of loosing fish due to breaking of weakest top - we tied line first at 1/3 or 1/4 rod length from the top - in that case when the tip breaks - you are still connected with the fish.
  9. Why retire reel? May be just call local tackle stores or directly Shimano and ask re spool replacement cost (in case that cannot be repaired)?
  10. Great report as usual, and interesting fish "upgrade"!
  11. Well done, and thanks for the rigs info!

Another "property" just sold on the market..
  13. 5 hours trip was really worth it! Great photos and report!
  14. If the annoying company has offices in Europe - contact one of those, and tell them to delete your data everywhere under GDPR - they take it there much seriously than here.
  15. Just create a second/separate (e.g. free Google) email account, and use it for small shopping , marketing or registration purposes. Check it once a week, and forget about most of annoying spam.
  16. Here are hooks from my "collection" - cant say tackle box - due to lack of their use. From top to down: 1) Tuna Circle Size 16/0 and TMC Size 15 flyfishing hooks. 2) Waza's mentioned Wide Gap / Kahle hooks: Mustad 7/0 and ? (the smallest one). 3) Unusual stuff : Mustad large open eye 90 turn Size 4 (still trying to figure out what is it made for!) and Zebco Zander Double Size 6 hooks. If anyone interested in really small hooks - check fly-fishing online or brick stores. You might be surprised what really tiny hooks they sell.
  17. Kmart lead was (is?) much cheaper, same ballistic characteristics. I have some JW products too incl reels and rods. My main dissapointment is in JW lines - I have 4 or 5 mostly useless larger spools. My JW 40lb Premium mono line breaks at 10lb. JW is a big company, a lot of local distribution of top fishing brands, a lot of export, a lot of fishing history. They can do much better!
  18. Jarwis Walker mono is also unique product. It has better memory than a council parking ranger.
  19. I doubt. I have seen 3 people targetting Yakkas on bread with Stellas near Pier 8.
  20. Thank you for the info. I hope more people find it useful. I will contact you later via PM.
  21. 1/4 (of ounce) jighead is heavier than 1/12 jighead

    Bird watching

Here is what you can watch when the wife is not around. Usually it is eagles, this season - a duck 😁. The cam is in Sydney. https://www.sea-eaglecam.org/video.html
  23. Here is another related link confirming continuing recognition of the old AS 1512 lifejacket standards in NSW. https://maritimemanagement.transport.nsw.gov.au/lifejackets/lifejacket-law/index.html
