  1. Good day with what seems to be the last of the warm weather. Nice report, always like gear details.
  2. A close mate works for a council, in sydney area, in this roll(they are the health/environment inspectors usually). By all the stories i hear, the council staff will do the absolute minimum to close the case unless lots of complaints come in. They would love to tell the complainant to grow up. The case would have to proven with sound measurements etc for any formal requests to happen. I wouldn`t stress about it. They do the minimum for these cases not because they are lazy but are more concerned with the commercial/restuarnts etc and they know people are jerks who want to live in suburbia/city but want country silence.
  3. In Booderee National Park/Jevis Bay Territory there is few camp grounds, Bristol point and green patch are excellent but avoid cave beach 100% bindi ground cover. You will be blown away by how beautiful the water place and water is. Heaps to explore. You can get to sussex inlet north side from there(i have not been down that road). Check it out on the national parks site http://www.parksaustralia.gov.au/booderee/index.html other wise there is a caravan park near husskison So many squid, just walking around the rocks at green patch you can see little 1inch squidlettes hunting. Recently Ive only fished from the murrays beach boat ramp and rocks to right for 2-3 hrs round to murrays, got squid and felt like decent hits on plastics but didn`t land anything. Almost lost a finger to a eel i didn`t see while cleaning squid off me in a rock pool. Ugly scary creatures. Parents have a photo of me about 8yrs old with a what looks like a 60-80cm flattie from a beach there don`t know which one though. A mate i was fishing with got a couple of decent snapper on a kayak near the rocks at hyams beach boat ramp, not sure of current fishing regulations for that area though. Cool shops in huskisson for the non fishers. You`ll be able to get food supplies from Vincentia shops.
  4. Got a Caldia 2500 a couple of weeks ago and love it. Only got a couple of squid so far, so have not given it a good test. Wish it came with English instructions so I don`t wreck it.
  5. That is ridiculous. Does it pulse like a squid? If so, that must need a serious rod. Also a beak that size must absolutely destroy jigs Very impressed, well done.
  6. Luckiest kids, all i ever got was flatheat, mullet, bream and puffer fish.

Cheers guys. Now to get myself a rod setup that can handle them and a boat to go with it. The minster of finance and social affairs is approving now after bringing that home.

All I`ll say is west of harbour bridge, totally unexpected.
  10. Been fishing(lures and plastics) and stalking this forum for about 6 months now. I have been struggling to really get anything other than squid, tailor and salmon. Anyway, was out in a mates boat on wednesday with a goal of bream or flaties and after some landing small tailor near the zoo, a trawl near north head for fun, a couple bouts of sea sickness(myself), couple of bays throwing blades we had nothing. With the wind picking up we decided to head for home but with a last minute decison we found a nice calm bay. Throwing blades and mate had given up, just chilling waiting for me to give in. I heard this noise, looked up and saw what i originally thought was waves breaking against a stone wall. But the surface was flat, no wake or waves. It was bait fish push up against the wall busting the surface with a few huge fish smashing through them, nothing like salmon or tailor I had seen before. Straight away my mate said kingies. Threw out the big rod, we always bring just in case, with a rapala lure trawlled around with minnkota on turbo in 2-5m of water. Managed to get the line tangled and everthing went quiet. Got em back out and was giving it another few minutes. There was squid ink in the water and few small smashed up fish. Then there was a huge weight on my line, slow moving. Nothing like the king hits i had seen on TV, thought i had a shark or ray. Got it close to boat, didn`t see it. Then ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ, game on. Then 10 minutes later of sounding like a pair of screaming school girls our first kingie and all I can think about for the last few days. 95cm nose to relaxed tail tip (Do you squeeze the tail tips down to measure????), didn`t weigh it but felt a good 10kg with shaking arms and adrenalin. Feed a good 15 people with sashimi entree. Thanks to all those who post and help out the newbies.
