Blackie fishing is fun...and they are great fighters too...the next few months coming up are prime time too...

Great stuff there Luderick59...I'm not too far away from finishing my current project then I'm hopping in the car and coming to spy on you...I'm only 5 minutes away from MV by car...to catch those off the beach is awesome...I want to see it with my own eyes... Has anyone ever tried for them at or near the Roseville Bridge ?

Came across this story today online...probably in the paper as well...I'm going to make sure I get my 14 yr old daughter to read this in the hope she gets the fishing bug back...I miss my fishing buddy...since she started high school and grew up the fishing took a back seat... Good Story

Went to my local fishmonger seeing as the missus asked me to bbq some fish...he had these nice big chunky filletts of moonfish...got me curious after seeing that pic of one on here caught...I didn't think it was a table fish but it was sweet and jiucy and terrific eating...I recommend it if you haven't tried it yet...I just made my usual marinade of 2 whole lemons squeexed into a little bowl...4-5 cloves of crushed garlic and a drizzle of virgin olive oil...stir and mix the contents...then I salt and pepper boith sides of the filletts and spread the marinade over both sides...let them sit for 5-10 minutes...then straight on the bbq hotplate...delicious...

I like doing them whole on the BBQ...make sure you bleed them first...gut and gill them...and scrape out the black lining in their stomach cavity...all of it...garnish with whatever you like and wrap in foil...I usually do lemon ,salt and pepper and garlic...very easy to do on the BBQ... A lot like to fillett them as well and you don't need to worry about the black lining then... Thye are a great tasting fish...

Have they been shopping at Target ?

They deserved to win but fair dinkum they got some calls go their way...2nd try was a dead set forward pass and some other 50-50 calls went all their way...having said that they still deserved to win but I'd rather see a match without so much errors from the officials...

Top story... ... Good to see the same type of reel I won in a raffle caught a Marlin as I've been unsure about it's capability...not anymore after that feat... You may have just merged 2 watersports and invented a new one ...kayak-skiing...hook up a Marlin and enjoy the ride...actually it's 3 if you chuck fishing in as well...

Don't be worried about anything else other than getting the right gear for the girl to catch a good sized fighting fish on...once they hit puberty it's all over so now's the time to enjoy with your fishing buddy...mine's gone and grown up now and unlike before where she was super keen to fish...now she rolls over in bed in the mornings and say's she's tired...
