  1. Here are some pics of just little fibreglass repairs I started making to some old holes and holes that were badly patched when I bought the boat
  2. Think I'm pretty close to that measurement when I started cutting around the outside.
  3. That's good to know them because I thought it was more to do with the integrity of the structure holding an outboard motor etc
  4. Sorry motion, I meant is it a standard transom flat straight across the back or a pod style type like mine?
  5. It did put me off for a minute haha It does worry me though doing my first transom and being different to what I can view on YouTube as my transom is completely different, and the fact I'm going against what is the norm and doing it from the outside.
  6. Yeah was going to say must have been a really bad effort 😱
  7. Straight across the back transom motion? You nearly lost an outboard and half the transom after the repair?
  8. I have some pics of what I've done on some cosmetics noelm I'll find them and post
  9. Yeah sort of get what you're saying noelm. Would be good if I could watch a vid on a similar transom repair. I hope it all works out also working on it from the outside rather than the inside as sound to be the common way of doing them
  10. I believe so but I'm pretty sure the stringers will be wet towards that back section also.
  11. Cheers Frank. I have a fibreglass roller mate as I've done some fibreglassing on the boat of late, and thanks for the offer on the matting but I'm not too too far from Trojan fibreglass and have already bought a heap of gear from there of late.
  12. The hardest thing has been most videos or info relating to transoms is they are all flat standard straight across the back transoms. Mine is so different and has been off-putting.
  13. Thanks heaps for the info everyone... Kinda wish I had a heap of money and could get it professionally done.
  14. Found some pics of when I started, how far I have gone and when I first found the rot. Wasn't real bad but it was there and the thing was soaking wet behind the skin
  15. So it is OK to do from the outside if I have to Noel? Also as far as when replacing the board whatever I choose it would then be like any other transom steps I would see on on a YouTube video that someone else has redone their transom? And good point regarding the bung hole being sealed. My current one wasn't and I believe that's where my problems started.
  16. That has been part of the problem Noel, I started to remove the glass from the outside say about a 1/4 of the way and then I was told it shouldn't be done that way, but I've already started and I wouldn't be able to do it from inside anyway unless I somehow cut the top off.
  17. Yeah mate I want to replace the transom that the outboard is attached to.
  18. I think I may have posted some in the past but never led to anything.
