  1. Hey all, Names Chris been a long time reader and land based fisho until recently when i purchased a brand new 2014 model 4.2 Quintrex Renegade. Been out a few times in the new machine and have come to the conclusion i really hate the tiller steer setup on the boat. I have searched online and am finding it hard to locate any recent info on whats needed or even if the particular model i have is able to be converted to console steer.. The motor is a 2014 Yamaha 40 Vwhtol 2 stroke tiller steer, power trim. Unfortunately due to buying on finance i really cannot sell or trade back for a CC or SC model and to be honest i am quiet happy to do the work myself as the wife and i are setting up for a camping/ fishing trip around Oz and by doing the work myself i think it would help in regards to learning more about the boat ect I am leaning towards wanting to convert to a centre console so what would be the parts i would need to do the job?? am i able to convert this motor?? whats a rough estimate on price?? Is there anything with the conversion i shouldnt do myself and pay the pro's to do? From the research i have done i know i need the following control box shift cable throttle cable adaptor kit which i cannot find any info on with part numbers prices ect. obviously need steering helm, wheel, steering cable. Any info would be highly appreciated, Thanks in advance
  2. Hey all long time lurker, first time poster. Names Chris and i love fishing but lately have become very frustrated with it all. Bit of backstory, as a kid me and the old man used to fish religoiusly every weekend, but 10 years have passed and with having to work fulltime like im sure alot of you do, fishing rdopped off the radar as none of my friends where interested in it, lately tho my wife has become keen to get out and catch a feed with me so we try and squeeze in a trip when we can. back in November we hired a boat for 3 days down on the Hawkesbury river and absolutely carved it up, stocking our freezer up with enough fish to last a few months eating. Over the last 2 months tho we have been land based around stockton, hunter river at hexham and a few places around the lake, with a grand total of 0 catches. we have multiple different setups for this style of fishing and have tried live, frozen and soft plastics with no success, I can't understand and cannot explain to my wife what we are doing wrong. We have tried multiple times of day, even to the point of starting before daybreak and still fishing near midnight the same day, have read multiple fishing reports across many media and still can't get a bite at places that, where going off the day before ect. Any advice??
