  1. Hi guys, I bought a cheap fish pole on ebay, but the rod needs the elastic, bung, connectors etc etc. Does anyone know where in Sydney that stocks this stuff? I've seen fish pole fisherman at Kyeemagh, so unless they only buy online, l assume someone locally sells too. Cheers and Thanks in advance. Gordon. P.S. No, l don't know how to use one even if l manage to set it up!
  2. Thanks guys. I just read in the website that they are expensive to maintain. It looks like it's quite a robust plastic buoy with a massive chain? What's to maintain? The chain? Surely there's a material out there resistant to sea water by now. Just seems like such a great idea, too great that there is only apparently 25 out there. Almost want to get on a boat and see what it's all about!! Sorry to harp on but final enquiry. The fad "code of conduct" was " courtesy should be given to fishermen already using the fad" do you need to be right on top of it?? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. Hi all. Just a quick question. Please dont feel the need to go into detail. Im not getting a boat anytime soon. How does a Fad work? Sent from my GT-N7105 using Tapatalk
  4. Hi all. I have been reading the forums lately. So many about catching jewfish, but none about actually how great they taste, or eating them. Lol. are they good for food or just sport? It cracked me up, when it clicked in my head that the infactuation with Jewfish ends at the photo shot. Then nothing........ lol. Sent from my GT-N7105 using Tapatalk
  5. Nice. I can't stand losing leathermans. 2 for me so far. (At work, not fishing) lol. Sent from my GT-N7105 using Tapatalk
  6. Hi All, My name is Gordon, l live in Oatley, kind of only really fished at San Souci Beach. Recently got a bait pump so l am at Dolls Point pumping nippers sometimes. Recently discovered Oatley has fishing spots, not that i didn't realise l lived near water!!!!!!, but l didn't know there was good fishing near the bridge and rocks..lol Ahh we'll better late than never. So in the not too distant future, anyone around Oatley seeing some dude with a push bike setup to go fishing come say hi!!!! I'll teach you a thing or two about catching fish the size of gold fish, but aren't gold fish!!lol Gordon
  7. I'm sure if you follow the advice in the forums here, it won't take you more than a weekend!!!!! lol. I wish i found this site sooner!!
  8. Hi Linc, I had 12lb line at the hook. And l think your right, l started with fairly heavy line when l first started, >20lb. and large hooks. That is until a friend told me to calm down and be a bit more realistic and go with lighter everything!! lol. So far there has been nothing but immeasurable knowledge in these forums. Thanks heaps guys!!!!!!!!
  9. Hi All Well l have been fishing for about a year, and took the Easter break opportunity to try and catch my first "real fish". An entire week of going around Sydney areas and even a tinny day trip from Como marina, l came up with nothing. My last day, Sunday morning, feeling a little defeated and weary, l caught my first fish that l could take home. Finally after a year of perfecting the art of catching fish the size of my palm, l can give up my reign of terror on the undersized and move up to mid sized category!! Now l look forward to fishing even more!!lol
