  4. Hey Raiders, First post in a long time, but I'm back now. Anyway I had some questions regarding catching Mud Crabs so here they are- I have my location sorted. Now the two questions I have are what is the best bait to use and what is the best trap to use. If it helps I will be land based. Also was wondering if these traps were any good- Any help is appreciated!! Cheers, FishingGuy Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Great work on picking it up mate, but seriously I wish these idiots would learn that they are not the only ones who use these spots and simply put their crap in the bin. Just the other day at Toukley I was watching a group of people constantly throwing plastic bags into the water, which will eventually end up in a turtles stomach. I managed to fish most of them out as they floated past, but the biggest problem is there is little you can do but tell them not to!! Cheers, FishingGuy
  6. Hey Raiders, I was wondering if any of you guys have ever caught freshwater Shrimp. If so I was just looking for some tips on what to use to catch them; baits, traps, etc. Also a general area where there might be some. Also a question on Yabbies. Are there any spots around Blacktown which might have them?? Unfortunately I'm only 15 so I am limited to a bike through the week. All info is appreciated and thanks in advance. 15. Hey Raiders, This long weekend we headed out on Friday and Sunday to give the Flathead and Bream ago. Sick of not catching anything in Sydney, the Central Coast it was. Report below- Good Friday- To be honest waking up on Friday there wasn't anything all that good about it!! The weather was absolutely horrendous with strong wind and quite heavy rain, so now the question was do we go or not?? Pfff of course we go, who cares about a bit of rain. So after getting some baits and eventually finding a supermarket which was open to get food we finally arrived and it was not a pretty sight. The were waves at least 1.5M and strong wind and all this on a lake not to mention. Anyway we made the decision to go to Budgewoi but that was soon scraped after turning the bend to find traffic queued back 5KM. So we setup at about 2PM and started fishing. Nothing, for 6 hours absolutely nothing then some bloke comes along and after 5 Mins gets a Flatty. Then at 8PM finally something bends the rod and its a decent sized Flatty. Then after that it was an absolute frenzy with Flathead after Flathead and by 1AM we had 12 in the esky. A few of the smaller and bigger ones were released (Sorry no photos of the big ones because didn't really want to get my camera wet in the rain) All in all from a baf start Friday ended up being very good. Easter Saturday- The weather was awful so no fishing, today it was restocking and gear maintenance. Easter Sunday- Went back to the same spot as on Friday with the weather being a lot better but the tide was incredibly high, cutting off the pathway even. There wasn't nearly as much action today as there was on Friday but we still managed six Flathead plus a few releases. Towards the end I also netted a few small Garfish as they weren't taking the bait I was using. During the duration of the weekend we used Pillies, Garfish, Prawns and Chicken Breast as Bait, and all caught fish. A great weekend of fishing and lots of fish to a company that. When we got home we split the fish up with a friend who was quite happy with a fresh feed of Flatty's. Happy Easter to everyone and tight lines!!! Cheers, FishingGuy
  16. Cheers Mate, Sent you a PM mate. Cheers, FishingGuy
  17. Hey Tazzie, Actually we did, but we tried a new method. take a look at this video, as we tried what they used and it wasn't all that bad- Cheers, FishingGuy
  18. Hey Raiders, Haven't posted in a while so he goes. Headed down to the Murrumbidgee River this on Friday arvo and we arrived quite late at night and had only some corn as bait. Gave it a try but nothing. Ou friends who had been there since 4PM had already caught one Carp on a worm and that was the biggest for the whole trip (Left in the Picture). Saturday we were up nice and early and the there wasn't much action. Headed into town to get some worms because the soil was as dry as the desert and rigged up. We managed 2 of them on Saturday. Later in the afternoon I went to look for some farm dams to set the Yabby traps. Managed to find one and set three traps with beef for 20 mins and I pulled out about 25 Yabbies. Most were cooked straight away back at camp but I left some for home (Pictured) already to eat now. Just wondering is it okay to have Opera House Style traps on private dams where there aren't and Platypus or Turtles in them east of the Newell Highway??? Anyway caught the last 3 on Saturday all on worms. All in all it was a great trip and I can't wait to get back down there to give it another crack and hopefully try and catch a Murray Cod. Cheers, FishingGuy
  19. So if you put out a Snapper caracas will the Pinkies go off the bite?? Cheers, FishingGuy

  21. Hey Raiders, I'm going to go try and get some Garfish tomorrow. I was just wondering is it worth giving Camp Cove a shot or are Double Bay and Rose Bay better. Would just like to know which one is best as I need to give my friends a heads up on where we are heading. Cheers, FishingGuy
  22. Great work mate, never been able to get anything there! Cheers, FishingGuy
  23. Hey Raiders, Headed to my secret spot in Botany Bay on Saturday to give the squid ago. Started at about 6pm and managed to hook six but only landed three. Jigs used were 3.0 Orange Daiso Cheapo and the 2.2 Orange Glow Yamashita. Happy with the catch, these guys will be frozen and used for bait. Cheers, FishingGuy
