  2. Awesome stuff. Glad to hear u got a few
  3. Thanks Z - Ive eaten my fair share of whiting over the last 5 weeks. They are so good. Thanks for the wishes on the beakies - definitely not on the tubies haha Hi papafish - 1m trace is right. use 12lb if you find the wash and gutter is carrying your bait back to shore, try using a star sinker on a slider to keep it grounded. Thanks mate
  4. Hopefully you will get out soon They are certainly great on the plate Thanks Larkin. Dying to give the beakies a go Thanks mate. All whiting under 40cm go back you say ? 🤣🤣👍 and i caught a few marlin inside the Nepean River last week.
  5. Thanks Noel - weather is on and off today, hopefully you can get out ! goodluck. where you headed? Thanks Rebel. Yes was only unwell for a day or two then had to wait for a negtive result Thanks Yowie - HA - not sure i agree with you about Bate Bay - id still say Northern Beaches are more productive Thanks Jenno - yeah its not the first time i have observed this. but interestingly i have also seen many days where they are fired up during late afternoon. so go figure Thanks Isaac - i dont like eating bream at all. But Ralph loves them. i find them very oily and mushy Get out there mate, good luck Thanks Masterfisho I dont think ive eaten a tailor in about 8 yrs ! dont like them a
  6. Awesome stuff. A day with family plus a feed of fish. Living the dream
  7. Gday Raiders Ill start this post by commenting on (in my opinion) the huge difference in fish productivity between north of Sydney heads and south. Fishing by boat or off the beach to the south of Sydney heads whilst sometimes fruitful, i find, is generally harder going. Whilst on the other hand, heading north of Sydney heads i find more reef, more fish, better beaches, better sand, better gutters etc. Perhaps the difference in density of population has a part to play too? Does anyone else share this experience and view? My quest for marlin has hit a stumbling block sadly. First, COVID - lost 8 days stuck at home during the holiday period sucked. Thankfully ive fully recovered with no lingering symptoms. Then, once out and about again, the weather offshore turned to shit for a while. Now im back to work and limited only to weekends. oh well. gotta keep trying ! it will happen eventually. Yesterday arvo i was itching to wet a line so me and my mate Ralph decided to get out to find a gutter and hopefully, some whiting. The gutter we were fishing was perfect. It had some waves breaking out about 30m out and then a deeper blue section infront of it, with a nice exit to the right hand side. Despite this it was a slow start with only 3 fish on ice in the first 2 hours, then, around 830 when the sun fully set, the fish turned on. In the space of an hour we picked up another 13 fish, two of them bream. One of them was a nice 40cm horsie, which makes the other legal fish look quite small haha. Tubies doing the damage as always, we fished until we were out of bait and then headed home. Thx for reading.
  8. well done mate, thats a quality bag of whiting ! You have been looking for them for a while !
  9. i wouldnt be surprised. the water on the beaches lately has been circa 25 degrees. but inside the harbour would be impressive.
  10. Cracking report and some cracking dinners there. Love the sunset photos
  11. Nice bag Yowie. And thats a elbow slapper of a whiting
  12. Nice bag of fish Yowie. How are the goatfish on the table
  13. Thanks Welster. Totally agree. Love spending time with the kids especially if it involves fishing! Thanks Z. I was very proud of him. A good memory for the archive of 2021 ( as opposed to the rest!!)
  14. Thanks Rebel Cheers mate Thanks Papafish. Ive nevrr tried them as sashimi but they are amazing on the bbq
  15. Mate after 4 weeks lockdown and then 7 weeks of shit weather im like a prisoner out on bail hahaha Thanks Jeff. Sure was a lot of fun Thanks Z Cheers Big Neil. It was amazing outside today. A typical summer day off sydney Thanks Yowie. Boat ramp was surprisingly full when i arrived. Maybe 50 trailers parked Thanks Pickles
  16. Thanks Crusher. He sure enjoyed himself 😊 Hey papafish. Its really simple hey ! Size 6 longshank hook. Red color. 1 metre of 12lb mono trace to a swivel. And then the smallest ball sinker u can get away with.
  17. Nice flatty. Very dark colors on him. Enjoy
  18. Gday Raiders. Early morning wake up today. 5am at the boat ramp. Armed with two blocks of pillies we fanged it in dream conditions to the Botany Wide FAD. No time for collecting live bait as i needed to be back by 1pm to take the family out for lunch. Took all of 30 mins to get there from the ramp which was nice. Used one block of pillies as cubed berly. The other block as whole bait, unweighted. Dollies were there and they were hungry. Between 3 people we kept 21 fish. Lots of families to feed today. Lots of fun and lots of non stop action. Off to Avoca tomorrow for a week with the family. Will try fishing the entrance while im there but need to get past the crowds. Cheers.
  19. Gday Raiders Hit up the beaches again for more whiting, this time with a few friends and my boy Adam. The usual plan, find a gutter, wait till dark, worms producing the goods. The whiting are unusually on fire this year. Must be all the rain weve had. They are ravenous and all good size. Barely any undersize fish to be found. Get out there fellas Thx for reading
  20. Awesome. Love it. Will definitely give it a try
  21. Thanks Larkin. 10 mins into the car ride home and theyre usually snoozing haha
